Each participating exhibitor will also be able to submit their logo to be included in their segment and will receive the final video compilation to be used on their website and social media platforms.

US Retailers Warned of 
    Port Strike Threats
US-based retailers are being urged to set up contingency plans ahead of the crucial holiday season to ensure merchandise makes it into stores on time, amid fears that dock workers at East and Gulf Coast ports will go ahead with strike threats.
Talks on new contracts covering issues such as overtime rules and container royalties broke down last week, meaning workers could walk out when their current contract expires on September 30.
The National Retail Federation (NRF) is calling on labor and management to return to the negotiating table - saying retailers will be forced to divert cargo elsewhere in a matter of days.
"Failure to reach agreement will lead to supply chain disruptions which could seriously harm the US economy," warned NRF president and CEO Matthew Shay.
"We are facing a critical time," he added, noting that retailers using the ports will be forced to execute contingency plans within the next week to meet in-store holiday deadlines.
"These plans carry great expense but they are necessary to avoid disruptions that will add costly delays to our members' supply chains."
Shay's comments came in a letter sent last week to the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX), the two parties taking part in the negotiations. The talks broke down after the ILA walked away over USMX's insistence to negotiate on terminal efficiency improvements.
Shay said lack of a contract could drive shippers away from East and Gulf Coast ports.
"Without such certainty, retailers and others will surely re-evaluate their supply chains and the short-term and long-term reliance on these ports."

CETI To Run Forums
The European Center for Innovative Textiles (CETI) has announced that it will run a series of forums alongside its opening on October 11.
The forum will consider new fibers, how collaboration accelerates the innovation process, the potential for nonwovens, and the future of innovative textiles.
More than 400 researchers, company managers, marketing managers, product managers and R&D managers from France, the US, Canada, Japan and Europe are set to attend.

CatalystCon Announces Fundraiser for Scarleteen
CatalystCon creator Dee Dennis has chosen Scarleteen as the recipient of a fundraiser to be held during the conference weekend. Dennis is a supporter of Scarleteen and the important work they do. As a mother she knows firsthand the lack of sex education available to children and knows the very important need for financially supporting Scarleteen and making it possible to continue the very important work they do. CatalystCon will be held at the Long Beach Hilton Executive & Meeting Center in Long Beach, CA, September 14-16, 2012.
Scarleteen provides millions of people in their teens and twenties with progressive, inclusive and original sexuality, sex and relationships education, information and support every year. Established in 1998, and continued since despite no federal, state or institutional funding, Scarleteen operates primarily via its popular, award-winning website -- consistently the highest ranked sex education site specifically for young people since its debut -- which includes articles, in-depth advice columns, external resources, and direct, one-on-one services which allow users to ask or talk about anything they need to, like their busy, moderated message boards and their SMS service.    WTO Complaint Filed 
    Against Argentina
The United States and Japan have filed complaints against Argentina at the World Trade Organization, slamming what they describe as the country's widespread use of trade restrictions against foreign goods - including footwear, textiles and apparel.
The filings, which were made separately on August 21, call for WTO consultations with the Argentinean government over measures such as its system of non-automatic import licensing, which "restrict imports and discriminate between imported and domestic goods."
These "do not appear to be related to the implementation of any measure justified under the WTO Agreement", according to the complaints.
US Trade Representative Ron Kirk said: "Argentina's protectionist measures adversely affect a broad segment of US industry, which exports billions of dollars in goods each year to Argentina.
"Through these measures, Argentina appears to have acted inconsistently with its WTO obligations."
Argentina's restrictions have progressively worsened over the last few years. The import restrictions imposed on apparel, footwear and textiles range from import quotas and non-automatic import licenses (NAILs) to minimum pricing and intentionally slow and thorough processing of imports.
Each industry in Argentina must export precisely as many dollars as it imports and products that could be produced locally will not get an import permit at all.
Argentina's NAILs system, which previously affected only footwear and apparel products, has now been expanded to almost 600 product categories of imports.
These measures not only affect US-branded product trying to enter Argentina, but also exports of US-made product to Argentina, says the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA).
US apparel and textile exports to Argentina equal $69.8m for the year-ending June 30, 2012, an increase of 34.6% since 2008.
"As the US apparel and footwear industry continues to seek out new markets in which to sell world famous US apparel and footwear brands, we have expressed considerable concern over Argentina's onerous import licensing restrictions," said AAFA president and CEO Kevin Burke.
"I applaud Ambassador Kirk for his leadership in bringing Argentina to account through the WTO in an effort to ensure Argentina plays by the rules of the global trading system."
Under the WTO's provisions, if the matter is not resolved through consultations within 60 days, the US may request that a WTO dispute settlement panel is set up.
The US and Japan are following in the steps of the European Union, which requested WTO consultations on Argentina in May of this year.

This year, I have a scheduling conflict that will make it impossible for me to attend ILS.  I am so sad about this! Since I can't make it, I want to live vicariously through you all, and the best way to do it, I think, is to make a game of it!
