Good & Bad News
An old man visits his doctor and after thorough examination the doctor tells him: "I have good news and bad news, what would you like to hear first?"
Patient: "Well, give me the bad news first."
Doctor: "You have cancer, I estimate that you have about two years left."
Patient: "OH NO! That's awful! In two years my life will be over! What kind of good news could you probably tell me, after this???"
Doctor: "You also have Alzheimer's. In about three months you are going to forget everything I told you."

Fantasy Lingerie Continues
International Expansion
Fantasy Lingerie has recently reported expansion into new international markets. Most recently announcing distributorships in: Germany, Scandinavia, Turkey, & Greece. Sean Monahan (National & Intl Sales Manager for Fantasy Lingerie) shares that the increase in this segment can be attributed to some distinct advantages in the location of their manufacturing facilities.
“Since our primary production takes place in Mexico, our European retailers can take advantage of the favorable exchange rates when importing our garments, thus giving them a little more margin to work with”.
NAFTA also comes into play. “Under Nafta, we’re a very favorable resource to retailers in Mexico/ Canada as they don’t have to face the 20% duties/taxes that can be levied on merchandise imported from China”.
According to Sean, the primary factor behind their success in these Intl markets has been the overall look & quality of their line. In business for over 30 years, Fantasy has had established distributorships in a number of Countries that include Australia, France, UK, Spain & the Middle East. But expansion is key.
“I’ve worked to triple our international business over the last 4 years & these new additions are part of the overall strategic plan to quadruple our international presence by 2009. These new partnerships will help give us exposure in areas where we had limited presence previously and are part of our overall plan to increase international market share” reports Sean.
“In light of the current economic conditions, it made sense to target brand expansion more aggressively into markets that would welcome the economic advantages our line could offer them”.

McCartney Upset Over
Fur Ad
Animal lover Stella McCartney has asked a fashion boutique to pull one of its adverts, as it shows a model wearing a bra from her lingerie collection while draped in a mink coat.
McCartney, who is an English fashion designer, was furious when she discovered that posh fashion house 'Hockley' had used one of her designs in the Vogue ad without permission.
In the photo, a model was seen wearing a black and white full-length mink fur coat tied with a leather belt with just the bra on underneath.
Stella, 36, who has fallen out with pals Madonna, 49, and Kate Moss, 34, because of her hatred of fur and leather, now plans to sue Hockley.
"Stella went absolutely ballistic when she saw it," a source at Sir Paul's daughter's boutique in Mayfair was quoted as saying.
"I have never seen her so angry. She hit the roof and said she planned to sue. She allows her accessories to be lent to shoots all the time, but she would never ever allow anything of hers to go to a fashion house that deals exclusively with fur.
"If Stella knew it was going to be used by Hockley there is no way she would have lent it. It was loaned to a stylist in good faith, but when Stella saw the picture she was furious.
"She said: 'It goes against everything I stand for.'
"She didn't see any proofs, she just saw the campaign. Stella is disgusted," the source added.
Hockley has on the other hand admitted the mistake and said it would not repeat the advert, which cost the company more than 26,000 pounds.
"Hockley is aware of Stella McCartney's views and is respectful of them," a spokesman said.
"This was an unfortunate mistake. Hockley would not intentionally make anyone feel uncomfortable. Hockley both requested and was told that the item was a vintage piece and apologizes for any embarrassment caused to Stella McCartney.
"It is not Hockley's intention to use the image again," the spokesman added.

Parents Upset Over High
School Musical Undies
“High School Musical” underwear for young girls have sparked outrage — because they have the words “Dive in” on them.
A British woman bought a packet of five pairs, with a “Disney-approved” design promoting the hit movie, for her seven-year-old granddaughter.
“When she put them on, myself and my daughter thought, ‘Oh my goodness.’ It is inappropriate because it is sexually suggestive,” Sue Ralph, a 57-year-old civil servant, said. “You just never know who could see that and think it was a bit too enticing for a young child to be wearing.”
Sue is demanding the $7.50 packs are removed from her local Asda supermarket in Broadstairs, Kent, where she bought them.
The underwear has also angered the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, a British children’s charity.
NSPCC said: “This is part of a worrying trend of inappropriate clothing marketed at young children.”
“The design was approved by Disney. It was completely innocent and not meant to cause offence,” Asda said in a statement.
