44 Years
After being married for 44 years, I took a careful look at my wife one day and
said, "Honey, 44 years ago we had a cheap apartment, a cheap car, slept on a
sofa bed and watched a 10-inch black and white TV, but I got to sleep every
night with a hot 25-year-old gal.
Now I have a $500,000 home, a $45,000 car, nice big bed and plasma screen TV, but I'm sleeping with a 65-year-old woman. It seems to me that
you're not holding up your side of things."
My wife is a very reasonable woman. She told me to go out and find a hot 25-year-old gal, and she would make sure that I would once again be living in
a cheap apartment, driving a cheap car, sleeping on a sofa bed and watching a
10-inch black and white TV.

Activists Call for Ban Repeal
A women's rights activist has called for the repeal of a ban announced on men
working in women's lingerie shops and tailoring shops specializing in women's clothes.
It was an "obscurantist and regressive" measure that would fuel emotional instability and moral deviations, Naeema Marhoon, head of the Bahraini
Woman Society, said.
"This decision targets women and seeks to isolate them socially. It reinforces the growing tendency to promote gender segregation championed by Islamists. After their calls to separate men and women at the universities and banks, now they are targeting shops," Naeema Marhoon said in a press statement.
"I do not think that our society has reached such a level of conservatism that we need to keep male tailors and shopkeepers from dealing with women, and there are high risks with growing isolation: women would go the wrong way."
The government at its weekly meeting said the ban was in response to requests by the Council of Representatives where Sunnis and Shiites control 30 of the 40 seats.
But for the activist, the ban had no legal or social grounds. "We have not heard of cases of abuse or unacceptable
behavior at these shops, so there is no reason to impose a ban meant to address problematic situations. Even if some problems did occur, then they are merely individual cases that do not warrant the ban," she said.
However, the decision was welcomed by the only woman deputy at the lower house.
"The ban will certainly help ease social and economic pressure on women and will allow many of them to take up jobs that will now made available, ensuring themselves a steady source of income," Lateefa Al Gaood said.
"There are also women who have been coy about dealing with male tailors, but will now feel much less inhibited when dealing with women," said
Lateefa.
