PENNY`S SCOTS CATWALK DATE
GORGEOUS Penny Lancaster has modeled some revealing creations since signing for Ultimo lingerie.
But Rod Stewart's leggy girlfriend yesterday pledged: "You ain't seen nothing yet."
Penny will be the catwalk star when Ultimo's Scots boss Michelle Mone unveils her winter range at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow on Saturday. Rod, Penny's biggest fan, will see her model Mich- elle's latest "invention" - said to be Ultimo's most revealing piece of lingerie yet.
Speaking from St Tropez, Penny said: "It's a wonderful feeling to be taking part in the Ultimo show. I'm excited to be
modeling Michelle's invention, which will be revealed on the night.
"And revealed is the appropriate word. People will know exactly what I mean when they see it."

A woman and her little girl were visiting the grave of the little girl's grandmother. On their way through the cemetery back to the car, the little girl asked, "Mommy, do they ever bury two people in the same grave?"
"Of course not, dear," replied the mother . "Why would you think that?"
"The tombstone back there said, 'Here lies a lawyer and an honest man.'"

Movie Star Enjoys Q4 Profit, as Sales Surge
Women's clothing maker Movie Star Inc on Thursday posted a strong rise in fourth quarter net profit on the back of soaring sales.
The New York-based firm, which produces lines such as sleepwear and daywear, posted net income for the quarter ended June 30 of $1.7 million, or seven cents per diluted share, versus a net loss of $329,000, or two cents a share, in the same period of 2002.
Sales jumped 45 per cent to $15.5m from $10.7m with fourth quarter operating income rising sharply to $1.7m from a loss of $489,000 last year.
For the full financial year, the firm recorded net earnings of $3.4m, or 22 cents a share, from $461,000 last year, or three cents a share, in 2002. Net sales increased more than 19 per cent to $64.9m from $54.3m.
"These robust results reflect sharply higher sales volume combined with much better margins resulting from improved sourcing," said CEO Mel Knigin.
"Looking ahead to the first half of fiscal 2004, there is a continued healthy demand for our products, and open orders for the first half of fiscal 2004 are comparable to the first half of fiscal 2003.

Intimo
A company run by husband, wife and son team.
we are very proud of the growth of our family business, especially the exceptional rapport we have with our customers in North America.
-Our biggest line is Antinea of Paris, which has shown consistent growth in NA since first started about 2 years ago. Millionaire magazine recently featured 4 pages of some of Antinea's best
an excellent testament for a wonderful product.
A major positive development for Antinea has been the recently announced merger with Lise Charmel.
Iva and I attend 2 trade shows a year in France; Paris in Jan and Lyon in September,
we also try to attend 2-3 NY shows.
Working in a family business entails working so many hours OT but, at the same time, there can also be compensating benefits that you could never find in a normal job: like being able to take off in
the middle of the afternoon to play a game of squash 3-4 times a week or going rollerblading on beautiful days....of course, after that, there is the night shift, but at least the batteries are charged....never a dull moment
-we feel very fortunate and blessed to have established so many wonderful close friendships with some of our customers and agents, many of whom travel to visit us in Montreal or we go to visit them.
In fact we have just returned from a 1 week stay in Atlantic Canada where we traveled across Halifax, New Brunswick and PEI with our agent and her husband.
-Last year we had the pleasure of traveling across BC with our agents and some special customers.
-We hope to visit Hawaii next year to spend some time with our agent (also known as Hawaii's "Lingerie guru"....of course you believe that our main purpose for wanting to go to Hawaii is to visit our agent, right?). Stan Rubens is also an excellent musician who has recorded 4 CD's and won musical awards.
All in all, it is certainly a very unique career we have and, like most
people in general, there are many ups and downs.
Some of the downs include things like not being able to get samples on time and late deliveries which can really effect bookings.
Also, with the economy being so bad since 9-11, many customers have cancelled orders, bounced checks or gone out of business.
Although there is a lot of stress working in such a fierce competitive industry, meeting suppliers sales targets and having to meet so many other demands -while working for minimal pay -we would still be hard pressed to trade this career for another.
We are in the process of preparing a business plan that will see Antinea increase their sales in the US at least five-fold during the next 2 years, including a comprehensive advertising campaign. The architect behind this plan is Bert Watson, a professional lobbyist from San Diego. Bert and his business associate, Michelle Johnson, will be our American partners and they have made a commitment to accompany us to Lyon on Sept 5th. Michelle's website
www.hautecouturelingerie.com
will feature primarily Antinea products and she is planning to open a high end lingerie boutique in California next year, mostly catering to
Antinea.

If you're
boarding a flight this week, take a lesson from Cindy
Crawford: Don't wear expensive stilettos. Not only do they
hurt
when your feet swell from the air pressure, but they can also
disappear. British tabloids report that Cindy was the victim
of a
shoe thief last week, during the security check-in procedures
for
a flight from New York to Los Angeles. Cindy was asked to
remove her shoes before going through the metal detector, and,
ever
the sport, the 37-year-old supermodel and mother-of-two
uncomplainingly took off her $600 Jimmy Choo shoes and put
them aside. Which she shouldn't have done. Because when she
went
back to pick them up, they were nowhere to be found.
Now,
something like that would never happen to Naomi Campbell.

Adult-oriented store ban is upheld
SUFFOLK, Va.- A city subcommittee on Tuesday said the Suffolk Planning Commission should amend the city's zoning rules to regulate adult businesses. The rules, known as the Unified Development Ordinance, don't specify whether or where such ventures can be located in the city.
The action stalls an effort by a North Carolina-based chain of adult boutiques to open one in Suffolk.
Casual Fun Products Inc. which sells lingerie, adult videos and other grown-up items sought city permission in May to open a store at the Suffolk West Shopping Center.
The location is on Main Street, a short walk from the Constant's Wharf site where the city hopes to build a new hotel and conference center.
"It's not part of our vision for downtown," Steve Herbert, the city manager, said of the boutique Tuesday.
Herbert, who also serves as the city's zoning administrator, put the boutique on pause in June when he decided that no mention of adult boutiques in the zoning rules meant they weren't permitted.
Greg Sakas, president and owner of the Goldsboro, N.C., chain, which has six stores in Virginia and North Carolina, said the lack of wording about adult businesses meant his store should be considered a retail operation, like any other.
He appealed Herbert's decision to Suffolk's Board of Zoning Appeals. Last week the board unanimously backed Herbert's stance.
"What they've done is violate my civil rights," said Sakas. "I don't know how they can legally do this when they don't have anything in writing in their own zoning rules."
Sakas plans to sue Suffolk, he said. "I hoped it wouldn't turn out this way, but they haven't given me much choice. The clock is ticking."
City rules give him 30 days to take the board's decision to court or lose the right to further appeals.
