                History of the brassiere
Women have always tried to enhance their female figures by squeezing themselves into restricting, uncomfortable garments. Waists have been reduced and bustlines have been increased, decreased, flattened or spread out, depending on what was fashionable.
Back in 2500 B.C., warrior Minoan women on the Greek isle of Crete began wearing a bra-resembling garment, shoving their bare breasts upward and out of their clothes! Greek and Roman women later wore a breast band, minimizing their chest size.
During the Renaissance Period, women stuffed the chest portions of their undergarments with silk pouches and hankies, binding them in place as well as could be expected to create an alluring bustline. Since there was nothing much to hold the pouches exactly where they should have been, there was a tendency for them to shift into laughable positions.

More than 1,600 visitors attended the three-day show in New York during Market Week.   Buyers from all over the world, mainly from North America, met with international qualitative brands, some of them exhibiting for the first time in America.
All exhibitors made fruitful contacts leading to substantial sales.
LINGERIE AMERICAS took place at the Metropolitan Pavilion/Altman Building in Chelsea; the exquisite design of the set up created in Europe, specially for LINGERIE AMERICAS, surprised the professionals and created an excellent working environment which benefited all parties involved.
The services offered were met with enthusiasm. They matched buyers’ and exhibitors’ expectations alike.
An overwhelming number of leading retailers and buyers from prominent department stores were present, demonstrating that LINGERIE AMERICAS meets the needs of the fashion professionals:

High Tech Clothes?
M
arks & Spencer's new chief executive said on Friday the high street giant is looking at developing a range of hi-tech clothing that will tell shoppers if their clothes clash.
Roger Holmes said he want to push back the boundaries of technology by inserting state-of-the-art microchips in garments that would tell the wearer if it matched their other clothes.
Mr Holmes, who takes up his new role next month, told The Times that the chips could also be used as an alarm for other hazards such as when clothes are put in the wrong washing machine cycle.
He also plans to use the technology in the retailer's food division with the chips warning shoppers and staff when food is past its sell-by-date.
"I really want to grasp the technological advances," he told the paper. "As the cost of microchips comes down, you can put them in food trays and in clothing."

My compliments on your site, and ingenuity; and my best to Mr. McKeown.  It was sad to see the last shop close on 42nd Street, but I guess we're entering a new age.
McPete appears to have a headstart.  Best regards,   Maggie

Any help or "searching" suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you know of or represent any similar quality full brief style nylon panties available in sizes 6 to 9 please contact me. Thank You, Ross Wilkin HalfMoon Enterprises

I have invented a low fitting panty that I am trying to get to market.  I do not have production, nor a reseller.  I believe my first step is to find a comfortable fabric preferably a cotton/lycra/spandex blend.  Any ideas of where to find that fabric?  In market research I have had a fantastic and overwhelming response to my invention. I am just starting out so I need any information anyone might have for me.  I am also looking to lease the idea to a major or minor manufacture.  You may reach me at spottedmodel@yahoo.com.  Thank you for any help you might have.
