SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Your YouTube Videos

Posting your product videos on YouTube is a great way to show the world the value of your products and drive traffic to your site. Let’s make sure people find them and you by adding SEO.

A few quick steps to SEO your videos in YouTube. 

1) Title: Create a title that is descriptive of your product and uses keywords. YouTube gives you 99 characters to use in the title, so there is plenty of room to create a descriptive title.
2) Description: Create a description that includes all the key features of your product and uses keywords and phrases appropriately.
3) Tags: Use your keywords and key phrase that you also used in your title and description.

Some of the inputs for the ranking of videos are:
- Channel views
- Subscribers
- Shares
- Comments
- Ratings
- Links from external domains
- Age of video
- Embeds

A little marketing can kick start those ranking inputs. If you are a wholesaler, let your retailers know about the videos. Encourage them to embed them into their site, or link directly to them. If you are a retailer, send your customer the links to your embedded videos or direct links to the videos and ask them to comment, or maybe offer them a discount for commenting or sharing your videos.

 2011 H.U.G. Award Gala 
Fashion Forms is now hosting a raffle to benefit the pediatric unit of the Howard A. Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center. The Painted Bra Art Project
The Painted Bra Art Project was created by artist Anna Braden to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. The purpose of their Facebook page is to encourage artists to paint a bra and donate to the online auction. All painted bras or 'brasterpieces' are displayed, auctioned off and all proceeds will be donated to the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation (HFF). 
How will the auction work? It's real simple! 
The auction will begin on Friday, October 14, 2011 and will end at 8:00 pm central time on Saturday, October 22, 2011.
If you are interested in bidding, go to the Painted Bra Art Project's Facebook page and place your bid in the comments section under the photo of the brasterpiece that you want to bid on--it's that simple. Keep checking back in case you get outbid.






Along with being able to view the auction winners on the Facebook page, the winners will be contacted directly.
A Brasterpiece exhibit is also planned at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment in Huntsville, Alabama on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 6:30 - 9:30pm. It is free to attend and everyone is welcome to go and celebrate the project. Many of the North Alabama/ Southern Tennessee brasterpieces will be on display. Several of the out of state and international brasterpieces will be represented as photographs at the event.

This show gives the designers an intimate venue to display their new collections in a relaxed setting to buyers. 
The Affinia Manhattan hotel offers convenient location for buyers during New York Market Week. It is located across the street from Penn Station and within walking distance to the showrooms, Javits Convention Center and various hotels where other intimate trade shows and private showings are held.

Dottie’s Delights new Magic Garden Collection for SS12 is a step into designer Stephanie Kuhr’s whimsical, bright and gorgeous world of lingerie.
“This season I was inspired by secret gardens and the magical storybook-like locations referenced in 60′s girl group songs,” said Stephanie. “In general, this collection is a bit more whimsical and dainty than past collections.”
Dottie’s Delights will have a special early ordering opportunity for the Midnight Soiree set so that it will be available in time for Valentine’s Day sales. The rest of the collection will be available 3/1/12.
For her inspiration, Stephanie looked to vintage lingerie from the mid 20th century. “I take elements from my personal collection and mash several decades together to create a vague vintage feel that still remains true to the aesthetic and craftsmanship of the past. I try to use the highest quality and most authentic materials possible and strive to make all pieces as functional as they are attractive. My girdles and shapewear are made to take a beating and still last while nipping in the waist and smoothing out the tummy. My bras are a modified bullet bra style, closest in shape to the 60′s so that they hearken a vintage silhouette without looking costume-y or extreme,” she said.
Stephanie will present highlights from her new collections to the public in person at Chicago’s fashion week — Fashion Focus on October 18th. This large scale runway presentation is held at Millennium Park in downtown Chicago and will be presented by Macy’s and in conjunction with the Chicago Fashion Incubator. “I was fortunate enough to be selected as one of six designers for the non-profit business mentoring program in 2010.”
“We are also working with a new design firm to revamp the website set to launch in time for the Magic Garden release and we are very excited about these new directions!” noted Stephanie.

       Successful ILS
Distributor returns to CO with plus-size delight
The International Lingerie Show was a major success for Eldorado Trading Company. The Colorado distributor’s exciting, new offerings were numerous and its presence massive. 
“We’re very excited and encouraged with the results of this year’s ILS,” says Eldorado’s CEO and founder Larry Garland. “Partnering with Pipedream to host the worldwide premier of the Fetish Fantasy Lingerie line proved to be a worthwhile alliance for both companies. As always, it was great to see everyone and meet so many new people in the industry.”
Eldorado enjoyed tremendous support from vendors that provided educational presentations inside the distributor’s booth. Representatives from Pipedream, Tantus, Venus, System Jo, Kama Sutra, Xotic Eyes, and Digital Playground delivered hands-on instruction to equip retailers with the latest sales tips and product information.
“I had many customers tell me how helpful it was to provide product education in the booth. This is something Eldorado plans to continue in the future,” stated Garland.
Eldorado debuted several new styles from Dreamgirl, René Rofé, Queen of Hearts, Magic Silk, Forplay, Daisy Corsets, and many more of the best lingerie manufacturers in the field. Lenzing's New Eco-friendly 
                 Fiber
Cellulose fiber producer Lenzing has developed a new eco-friendly fiber produced by what the company describes as an "innovative, eco-friendly manufacturing technology".
Lenzing Modal Edelweiss will be officially launched at the autumn trade shows, and will initially be produced in selected quantities for customers with special ecological requirements.
The technology used to produce the fiber is based on a chemical process derived from oxygen, and combines with its other environmental advantages such as carbon-neutrality, a low need for land and a replenishable raw material of natural origins.
Lenzing Modal Edelweiss uses the same processing in the textile supply chain as the conventional Lenzing Modal fiber, and also has an identical performance, the company says.

Self-cleaning Cotton Fabric
US scientists have developed a self-cleaning cotton fabric that can kill bacteria and break down toxic chemicals such as pesticide residues when exposed to light - opening up new applications in biological and chemical protective clothing.
Researchers at the University of California, Davis have found a way to incorporate a compound known as 2-anthraquinone carboxylic acid, or 2-AQC, into cotton fabrics.
The chemical bonds strongly to the cellulose in cotton, making it difficult to wash off, unlike current self-cleaning agents.
Also, unlike some other experimental agents that have been applied to cotton, it does not affect the properties of the fabric.
When exposed to light, 2-AQC produces so-called reactive oxygen species, such as hydroxyl radicals and hydrogen peroxide, which kill bacteria and break down organic compounds such as pesticides and other toxins. Although 2-AQC is more expensive than other compounds, the researchers say that cheaper equivalents are available.
"The new fabric has potential applications in biological and chemical protective clothing for health care, food processing and farm workers, as well as military personnel," said Ning Liu, who conducted the work as a doctoral student in the UC Davis division of textiles of clothing.

X-Rite & Pantone Introduce 
New Color Management Tools
New tools to help textile mills, dye houses, and apparel and softgoods manufacturers to improve quality, reduce scrap and rework, and shorten the time it takes to get new products to market have been introduced by X-Rite Europe GmbH and Pantone LLC.
The firms specialize in color communication and formulation systems, color standards and lighting, including equipment to measure colors and communicate this data between production facilities around the world.
Pantone has added 175 new colors to the Pantone Fashion + Home Color System, which features spectral data for the 2,100-strong color palette to ensure accurate digital color communication. 
It has also launched a new nylon brights collection, with 21 electric shades that designers can use to accurately select the color of nylon and polyester materials used in the manufacture of products like sportswear.
To help textile and fashion designers select colors, the Capsure is a handheld device that can accurately measure colors of virtually any object. While the ColorMunki Design package selects, specifies and stores color palettes. 
Measurement tools used in the production and quality control stages include spectrophotometers and software solutions to help in the identification, selection and formulation of new shades and grouping batches of textiles by shade variation.
X-Rite's “new generation” NetProfiler 3 package allows companies to remotely adjust and certify the performance of their spectrophotometers, ensuring accurate and reliable color data. Tapping into the rapid growth of mobile computing, NetProfiler 3 extends the power of profiling to handheld devices. 

Factory Rape Claims in Jordan
Allegations of systematic rape by company officials at Jordan's largest garment manufacturer continue to surface as labor rights groups describe a government investigation as a cover-up.
Activists are stepping up their calls on US brands and retailers including Hanes, Target, Macy’s and Sears to take action to protect female workers making their clothes. And they are urging consumers not to buy clothing from these firms if it has been made in Jordan.
They also want the US government to take a lead in the investigation since Jordan is allowed to export its sweatshop clothing to the US duty-free under the US-Jordan Free Trade Agreement.
So far five women in two years have come forward to claim they were raped by a manager at the Classic Fashion factory, while further enquiries are said to have indicated widespread and ongoing human rights abuse, labor violations, and sexual assaults.
The Institute for Global Labor and Human Rights says Hanes, Target, Macy’s and Sears have all refused to take action until the Jordanian government releases the results of their investigation. But activists see the government’s investigation as a “whitewash.”
“The Jordanian Government investigation of Classic has been severely flawed by incompetency, a lack of resources and trained investigators, and a deliberate campaign by Classic management to hold the foreign women guest workers in a state of terror and repression,” said Charles Kernaghan, director of the activist group.
“Investigators have failed to secure basic documentation related to the rape accusations, have refused to allow victims to be interviewed in safe circumstances by women’s advocates, and have kept independent human rights groups out of the investigation.
“This is not a serious investigation, but a whitewash.”
Nearly 150,000 people have joined a popular campaign on Change.org calling on Hanes and other companies to take workers’ allegations of serial rape at the factory seriously.
