JC Penney to Launch
Ambrielle
Department store JC Penney is preparing for its largest-ever private brand
launch with new lingerie collection Ambrielle.
The range, which will be the centerpiece brand of JC Penney's redesigned
lingerie departments, will be launched in stores, catalogues and online in
spring next year.
The company's new intimate apparel 'boutiques' will feature newly designed
fixtures, body forms showcasing the collection's assortment, oversized graphics and separate checkout registers for ease of shopping.
Myron E Ullman III, chairman and CEO, said: "Ambrielle offers our modern
lifestyle customer the fashion and quality she would find in a specialty
store, but at a much smarter price."

Esquire Names Johansson
Sexiest Woman Alive
Scarlett Johansson's hourglass figure and plum movie roles have brought her much attention and many fans.
Among them the editors at Esquire who has just named her "Sexiest Woman Alive."
The 21-year-old actress poses in come-hither garb on the cover and inside pages of the magazine's November issue.
On the cover, she wears a bra and a white Calvin Klein mini-dress; In a series of photos inside, she wears cleavage-baring black lingerie paired with an open white robe, among other get-ups.
Johansson, whose screen credits include "The Black Dahlia," "Lost in Translation" and "Match Point," says she would rather be admired for
attributes other than sex appeal.
"What about my brain? What about my heart? What about my kidneys and my gallbladder?" she asks, addressing all the hoopla about her curves in an interview in the magazine.

Ann Summers to Attempt
to Set New World Record
Ann Summers hopes to set a new world record 25 years after its
try-before-you-buy" sex toy parties first gave women a safe alternative to the
dingy basements and grubby anoraks of traditional adult shops.
The company, whose staff organize Tupperware-style displays of its pulsating products and skimpy lingerie in the comfort of women's homes, aims to hold over 1,000 parties across the country in its bid for the new "largest girls' night in" record.
"All the girls will get together, they'll play a few games, have a glass of wine
and it's generally just good fun," said Ann Summers Chief Executive Jacqueline Gold, who dreamt up the parties a quarter of a century ago.
Gold credits her idea with "empowering women to make decisions in their own sex lives" but it has also turned a family business with sales of 83,000 pounds 25 years ago into a sex industry giant with annual turnover today of about 155 million pounds.
"Back then there was a couple of retail shops and a small mail order business," she said of a company that now has 135 stores and hosts 4,000 parties a week. "The customer profile was 10% women, now it's 75%
in our shops."
Guinness World Records confirmed the attempt at a new record category -- for the "largest girl's night in", requiring a minimum of 10 simultaneous parties with at least 50 women at each.
But Gold said she was expecting to do much better, with at least 1,000 parties taking place across the country and more than the usual average of about 12 people at each venue.
A businesswoman first and foremost, Gold said she did not see herself as a feminist but that she was proud of what had been achieved in opening up a once male-dominated industry.
"I'm all for equality and I think the fact that we've helped liberate women between the sheets is a big thing."
Gold cited turning the Ann Summers business around as the biggest achievement in her career but also pointed to the company's successful 2004 legal bid to overturn a ban on placing its help-wanted adverts in job centers.
She still feels there's work to do tackling discrimination, however, with some owners of flagship shopping malls reluctant to give space to her stores.
"I suspect the landlords have been a bit stuffy but we'll get there in the end," she said.

Never Argue with a Woman
One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.
Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and
says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"
"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?")
"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her.
"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading."
"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any
moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."
"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the
woman.
" But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.
"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment."
"Have a nice day ma'am," and he left.
MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also think.
