She's the star of "Swimfan," the Number One movie in America, playing a twisted teenage stalker, but you may still not know her name. She's the girl who made such a splash in "Traffic" last year, playing Michael Douglas' drug-addicted daughter, but her name may still escape you. She'll be seen next opposite Goldie Hawn and Susan Sarandon in the raucous comedy "The Banger Sisters"; perhaps by the time that movie reaches theaters in late September, you'll know that the beautiful blonde's name is Erika Christensen. But if you don't know her name even then, that's okay with her.
"It's a game. There are barriers to overcome and goals to achieve and every step of the way is fun," the 20-year-old ingenue says with a wide grin. And considering her age, Christensen has plenty of time to become a household name, a goal she seems destined to achieve.
In fact, her budding celebrity is something that Christensen has already come to appreciate, embracing the glare of the spotlight because it makes her think about just what sort of person she wants to show to the world.
"It's good [to be recognized]. It keeps me in line. I don't really drink so that's not usually a problem. People probably look at me and think I'm drunk, though, because you get me on the dance floor and I kind of go crazy!" she confesses. "But it's just good, it's a nice way to have you be forced into becoming the person you would like yourself to be."
Christensen, who began her acting career back when she was just a pre-teen, also admits that she has a serious plan for making it big in the high stakes world of Hollywood.
"I'm really dedicated and focused and I have a lot of self-discipline," she says, sounding like a seasoned professional rather than a girl who hasn't yet celebrated her 21st birthday. But like most young people, she still does have some bad habits that she is looking to break as she enters into adulthood (and stardom).
"I just feel like there are things about me that I'd like to change. I know it's possible to do that and whatever I can't change, be happy with. I sometimes procrastinate and that's not something that I'm proud of. And then there are those times where I really just side-step things and I don't think that's how to deal with things," Christensen frankly reveals.

New York's Fashion Week, taking place in the tents at Bryant Park , has seen the likes of supermodels, celebs and designers taking their bows.
One former model who made the grade, but probably didn't want to, is the Diva of Domesticity herself, Martha Stewart.
Designer Kenneth Cole always opens his show with a film espousing his politically correct mores.
Usually humorous, this season's recapped some headlines from the past year, ultimately encouraging the remembrance of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
The word "believe" was followed by images of Martin Luther King, Jr. The word "decline," shown on a credit card approval machine, was followed by images of Enron's Ken Lay and the Queen of Clean, Martha Stewart.

                        OOOO-LA-LA!!
O pened this morning at 4, rue de Grenelle in the fashion heart of the Left Bank is Sonia Rykiel Woman -- according to Rykiel Artistic Director Nathalie Rykiel this store and its products are " very complementary to the other Rykiel lines, but it's a totally new concept, that's never been done in Paris, or the world."
So what's so new about this store? For starters, it's all about the three ideas of "woman, sensuality, pleasure - for a woman who is liberated." This translates into simple but luxurious pieces such as pashmina dressing gowns, a ruffled and beribboned mohair and silk bed jacket smart enough to be worn to the chicest restaurant and simple fine cashmere sweaters in a variety of colors. Rabbit fur is knitted into ultra light gilets and huge throws in pink, black, brown and plum. Skinny ribbed tops that have lingerie details like lace straps have an intricate and imperceptible construction that means they can do the job of expensive underwear yet "can be worn as outerwear too."
So far, so sensual, so what about the pleasure? Featherlight cashmere is only so exciting. A clue to the store's extra aspect is found in the vaguely boudoiresque windows. Pink marabou and a revolving angel with a "do not disturb" sign covering her privates appear behind a windowpane striped with black lines and the warning "Interdit aux Mineurs" -- "No Children Allowed."
Downstairs, pashminas aside, is a display of hand mirrors. On top of each is a sex toy - vibrating "lipstick," a vibrating sponge, that infamous rabbit-eared vibrator that Charlotte became addicted to in "Sex and the City."
Rykiel dismisses any potential shocked reactions with characteristic insouciance, "You can buy a sweater or a robe or a candle or a vibrator, why not? After all, it's only a toy!" To add that extra element of luxury each purchase comes in a rather desirable drawstring black satin bag lined in pink with a little diamante SR at the bottom corner.
Sniggering aside, it's a time of expansion for the Rykiel empire which has regained a certain cachet in the last three years. The brand's third Sonia Rykiel store in the US will open in Coral Gables, Miami at the end of October followed, in early December, by the first stand-alone UK store on Brook St in London's Mayfair.
