Indie Designer Spotlight: Intimate Accessories
It's time for another Indie Designer Spotlight! Indie Designer Spotlights are for brands that travel a bit under the radar but who I believe are doing some things everyone should pay attention to. Lately, I've run across a couple of amazing accessories designers (and one knickers designer!) that I really want to share with you here.

I first learned about Salon Chaton's knickers through Instagram, and I've been smitten ever since. Salon Chaton focuses on panties, and what amazing panties are they. My favorite is the Blueberry & Jam Shortcake Knicker...what a delightful confection!





Miss Numa 
After my last post on boudoir accessories, Miss Numa reached out to tell me about her glove line. Now, I don't own very many gloves, but I can definitely see how Miss Numa's gloves are "like lingerie for your hands." Delicate, creative, and oh so sexy, these are must-have on the lust list.

Extenuating Circumstances
While conducting some business at the Courthouse, I overheard a lady, who had been arrested for assaulting a Mammogram Technician, say, "Your Honor, I'm guilty but.....there were extenuating circumstances."
The female Judge said, sarcastically, "I'd certainly like to hear those extenuating circumstances." I did too soooo…… I listened as the lady told her story.
"Your Honor, I had a mammogram appointment, which I actually kept. I was met by this perky little clipboard carrier smiling from ear to ear and she tilted her head to one side and crooned, "Hi! I'm Belinda! All I need you to do is step into this room right here, strip to the waist, then slip on this gown. Everything clear?"
I'm thinking, "Belinda, try decaf. This ain't rocket science."
Belinda then skipped away to prepare the chamber of horrors.
With the right side finished, Belinda flipped me (literally) to the left and said, "Hmmmm. Can you stand on your tippy toes and lean in a tad so we can get everything?" Fine, I answered.
I was freezing, bruised, and out of air, so why not use the remaining circulation in my legs and neck to finish me off? My body was in a holding pattern that defied gravity (with my other breast wedged between those two 4 inch pieces of square glass) when I heard and felt a zap!
Complete darkness, the power was off!
Belinda said, "Uh-oh, maintenance is working, bet they hit a snag." Then she headed for the door.
"Excuse me! You're not leaving me in this vise alone are you?" I shouted.
Belinda kept going and said, "Oh, you fussy puppy...the door's wide open so you'll have the emergency hall lights. I'll be right back."
Before I could shout NOOOO! She disappeared. And that's exactly how Bubba and Earl, "maintenance men Extraordinaire" found me...half-naked with part of me dangling from the Jaws of Life and the other part smashed between glass!
After exchanging a polite Hi, how's it going type greeting, Bubba (or possibly Earl) asked, to my utter disbelief, if I knew the power was off.
Trying to disguise my hysteria, I replied with as much calmness as possible, "Uh, yes, I did but thanks anyway."
"OK, you take care now" Bubba replied and waved good-bye as though I'd been standing in the line at the grocery store.
An hour later, Belinda breezes in wearing a sheepish grin.
Making no attempt to suppress her amusement, she said, "Oh I am sooo sorry!
The power came back on and I totally forgot about you! And silly me, I went to lunch. Are we upset?"
And that, Your Honor, is exactly how her head ended up between the clamps...."
The judge could hardly contain her laughter as she said "Case Dismissed".

MAGIC Fashion Show at 
   Rumor, Las Vegas

Tuesday night's Fashion Splash event topped off a series of fashion shows for Swim at WWDMAGIC sponsored by Invista. The party took place at the new hotel, Rumor Las Vegas. With a Palm Springs meets Miami vibe, guests lounged in cabanas and sipped on ice cold Coronas. A special performance by Ashley Rodriguez, American Idol Finalist, and beautiful lighting created a vibrant ambiance to showcase the season's hottest swim trends.

Prime source Forum Dates Set
The dates have been set for the next Prime Source Forum (PSF), the annual meeting of senior executives involved in sourcing, manufacturing and servicing - which is also seeing its apparel focus extended for the first time to include footwear.
The annual event takes place in Hong Kong, with the next sitting set for March 28 to 30, 2012.
Prime Source Forum has grown in importance since its inception in 2006 when the major challenge facing the apparel industry was the end of WTO quotas. The March 2012 round of workshops and forum sessions will continue to look at the challenges and opportunities facing the apparel and footwear industries.
Also taking place at the same time are leather and fashion fairs organized by APLF Limited, including Materials, Manufacturing & Technology and Fashion Access.
Turkey, a major player in the global leather industry, will be the focus country for APLF 2012, and a record number of Turkish tanneries are expected. Exhibitors are also lined up from India, Italy, Korea, Pakistan, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the UK and the US - with a product range extending to non-leather and natural raw materials, components and accessories, as well as processing, chemical and equipment manufacturers.
There will also be color and material trend for spring/summer 2013 developed by Olivier Guillemin, president of the Comite Francais de la Couleur.
"We are confident that we will have a higher exhibitor count in 2012 than the 1,235 registered in March 2011," explains APLF event director Perrine Ardouin. "Already, we have seen an increase in stand bookings by 16% compared to the same period last year." More than 20,000 buyers are also expected to attend.
With its focus on bags, footwear, small leathergoods, fashion accessories and leather garments, Fashion Access offers one-stop sourcing, all under one roof. Ten country pavilions have already been confirmed, including Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Pakistan, Taiwan and Thailand.
The show serves two different types of exhibitors and buyers: the traditional Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)/Original Design Manufacturers (ODM) who are looking for volume buyers, and exhibitors in Fashion Avenue who mostly carry their own brands and are looking for boutique and department store buyers or franchisees."
