Bra Mountain
The month of October closed with VIBE 98.5's annual Bras for a Cause event. Truckloads of donated bras got shipped off to local emergency shelters, and a double D-sized
check was handed over to the Breast Cancer Supportive Care Clinic of Calgary.
The big bra tally? An unbelievable 25,000 -- to which Cardel Homes made a $1 donation for every last one.
They came in all shapes and sizes. Some had tassels, some were bejeweled, some had leather straps and others would fit a small elephant. But bra mountain, in its third consecutive year, never looked so spectacular as it did the morning during the number-crunching finale with Citytv and the VIBE morning crew at Chinook Centre.
On top of Cardel's donation, events included the All Pink Party, Paint the Park Pink with the Calgary Vipers, and the sale of paper bras at Citytv, Merle Norman, Knickers n' Lace and in Chinook's centre court by the VIBE crew, all helped raise an additional $25,000.

Corsets for a Cause
Who better to design lingerie than those who look best in it — Hollywood's sexiest starlets.
Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Beyoncé Knowles, Eva Longoria and Jessica Simpson are among 40 celebrities who crafted the comely corsets — to auction for a children's charity.
Nineteen of them were sold at Frederick's of Hollywood's flagship store in Los Angeles, but the rest were up for grabs online at
clothesoffourbacks.org until Nov. 5. The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation doles out funds to charities for hungry, critically ill and autistic kids.
Dita Von Teese's piece reaped the highest bid. The burlesque star's bizarre bodice, encrusted with multicolored Swarovski crystals and trailed by a fuchsia feather tail, sold for $20,000.
Johansson's corset, a champagne satin piece decked with platinum glass beads, sold for $11,000.
Eva Longoria stuck with basic black, adding a few sexy silver stripes, while Debra Messing used bright, rainbow colors.
Even a few guys got in on the action. Andy Garcia's Cuban flag-inspired corset is still available, along with one designed by Jeremy Piven. The "Entourage" star detailed his bodice with rhinestone doodles of hearts and peace signs.
