Abercrombie to Delay
   Canadian Debut
Fashion chain Abercrombie & Fitch is delaying its launch onto the Canadian market until Spring 2006.
Abercrombie, which had originally planned to open stores in Canada before the end of 2005, has previously suffered problems with consensus over expansion plans, as ex-president and chief operating officer Robert Singer admitted.
Chairman and chief executive officer Mike Jeffries said at the time of Singer’s departure that the company was solidifying plans to break into the Canadian and UK markets but that "entry into other foreign markets will be at a more deliberate pace".

American Apparel's Sexual Harassment Case Dismissed
             by Judge
One of three sexual harassment lawsuits launched against T-shirt giant American Apparel by ex-employees has been dismissed.
Los Angeles-based American Apparel said a case brought against it by a former district had been dismissed by a US federal judge.
The manager, who had been serving for the company for two and a half months, said she had been forced to work in a hostile environment.
She complained about vintage magazine covers from publications such as Playgirl, Life and Look that were used to decorate the store.
The company responded by saying the covers were art and fashion artifacts. American Apparel lead counsel Joyce Crucillo said: "The company hopes to resolve the remaining cases very soon."
American Apparel operates more than 50 retail locations in the US and 30 internationally.

Two Companies - Glenaden
    and Adria Cut Jobs
More than 100 textile job losses were announced last week by two firms in the UK.
Lingerie company Adria confirmed 65 redundancies at its operation in Strabane, Co Tyrone, just four months after it said it was to cut 185 jobs.
Those losses came on top of 175 redundancies in March.
In a separate move, Glenaden Shirts said it would be making 53 staff redundant, a third of the workforce at its Derry operation.
Adria blamed difficult market conditions for the move and said the job losses will be in fine gauge knitting and dying.
The company said talks were ongoing with union and staff representatives but are expected to have concluded by the end of February 2006.
Glenaden Shirts said it had been forced to scale down its operation after the reduction in the order book of a key customer.
The company said, with 111 employees, it will still be the largest remaining shirt manufacturer in the UK.

Gotta Love Grandmas
The doctor that had been seeing an 80-year-old woman for most of her life finally retired. At her next checkup, the new doctor told her to bring a list of all the medicines that had been prescribed for her. As the young doctor was looking through these, his eyes grew wide as he realized she had a prescription for birth control pills. "Mrs. Smith, do you realize these are BIRTH CONTROL pills?
"Yes, they help me sleep at night."
"Mrs. Smith, I assure you there is absolutely NOTHING in these that could possibly help you sleep!"
She reached out and patted the young Doctor's knee.
"Yes, dear, I know that. But every morning, I grind one up and mix it in the glass of orange juice that my 16 year old granddaughter drinks..................................And believe me, it helps me sleep at night." !
You gotta love Grandmas

Sex Festival Held in China
More than 50,000 people flocked to the opening day of a racy sex festival in southern China in a sign the conservative nation is shedding its sexual taboos.
The three-day event, which began on Saturday November 5,in the southern province of Guangzhou, featured lingerie shows and adult toy exhibitions as experts and local authorities sought to convey information about the dangers of unsafe sex.
"Holding this festival shows the mainland is open and bold about sex," said Xu Tianmin, president of the China Sexology Association, a sponsor of the Third Sex Culture Festival.
Other cities are planning similar festivals. Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province in north China, is next in line to host such an event.
Experts worry that sex education in China has fallen behind over the past 25 years as economic development changed people's attitudes about sex.
In one of many recent studies, the average age of first sexual experience for most Chinese had dropped to 18 from 22 only a few years ago.
Xu said a lack of classroom education and general ignorance about safe sex was one reason that HIV/AIDS and venereal diseases were spreading in China.
The government estimates China has 840,000 HIV-positive cases, although a new survey is now being carried out.
About 30% have been infected through unsafe sex, and that figure has been rising steadily, prompting calls from health experts for 100% condom use programs throughout China.
The United Nations has warned that China may be on the brink of an AIDS epidemic, with potentially 10 million HIV-positive people by the end of the decade.

 Another Way To Help Men
                  Shop
Men who want to woo their ladies by buying them sexy-scanty upper garments, but don't know their sizes, need not look confused anymore, as a designer in Netherlands has made their job much easier by creating a wall of fake breasts to help male shoppers buy bras that fit their wives or girlfriends.
Wendy Rameckers, who works at the Piet Zwart Institute for Retail and Design in Rotterdam, has made a wall consisting of rows of silicon breasts in all sizes. She believes that by look and touch, male shoppers can work out the right size.
"Most men have a selective memory," Wendy said.
"They know all about their car, but never seem to know their wife's bra size. When trying to buy a sexy bra for their wife or girlfriend, usually they point to other women in the shop or, when asked about size, they say a 'handful'," she added.

Bored Granny is Caught
         Shoplifting
A bored Italian granny shoplifted £70 000 worth of jewelry by hiding the valuables in her panties.
Police said the 62-year-old woman had visited several jewelers in Genoa posing as a frail but wealthy old lady.
A spokesperson said: "She would study the items offered for viewing carefully, waiting until the moment when the sales assistant was inevitably distracted by another customer.
"She would then quickly drop the items into her knickers so that even when staff searched her pockets they found nothing. They did not suspect such a frail old lady of theft."
The woman was arrested after being caught on closed circuit television stuffing gold necklaces and rings into her underwear in a shop in the San Fruttuoso district of the city.
The thief said: "I just intended to make my life more exciting. I got bored with expensive holidays and other little treats. It just wasn't enough for me anymore."
