Dim Re-locates Lingerie
   Production to Romania

French company Dim, part of the Dim Branded Apparel group, is planning to stop lingerie production at its main site in Autun, in eastern France, at the start of next year and re-relocate this activity in Romania.
The 86 staff affected by the move are to be offered alternative posts within the company.
However, the Autun plant will see its tights-making activity strengthened with Dim investing more than EUR500,000 (US$628,100) in around 30 additional
production machines.
Dim's logistics hub, also in Atun, will also have an expanded role in managing the planning and distribution for the whole of Europe.
In May 2006, Dim announced plans to axe 450 jobs - close to 20% of its global workforce.

Charming Shoppes Sign
            Thompson
Retailer Charming Shoppes, the parent company of Fashion Bug, Lane Bryant and Catherines, has signed America's Next Top Model winner Whitney Thompson as a brand ambassador for Right Fit.
Right Fit is an innovation in fit that helps women find the right fitting pair of jeans or pants, with reference to a 50 year body shape study.
A statement by the company said: "As the first-ever curvy model to win the ANTM competition and a contract with Elite New York model management, Whitney will encourage women of all shapes across the country to get "Right Fit-ted" for themselves."

Wacoal Cuts FY Forecast
Despite more than doubling profits in the first half of its financial year, Wacoal Holdings Corp has slashed its forecast for the current fiscal year.
For the six months to September 30, net income soared 118.8% to JPY4.1bn (US$38.7m) from JPY1.9bn a year earlier.
Net sales at the Kyoto, Japan based company rose 6.0% to JPY89.5bn from JPY84.5bn last time.
However, operating income fell 9.4% to JPY8.1bn from JPY9.0bn, which the firm blamed on currency exchange fluctuations, higher pension expenses and the dissolution of Tokai Wacoal Sewing Corp at the end of June.
Pointing to a slowdown in its second quarter as consumer confidence was hit by rising fuel and food prices, Wacoal said it foresees a difficult future for its core Japanese market.
Results are particularly sluggish at department stores and mass merchandisers selling women's fashion, but functional underwear lines like Style Science, Sugoi and Cross-Walker have seen sales "exceeding our expectations."
Overseas, it expects performance to be "significantly affected" by the appreciation of yen, the weak real economy and reduced consumer spending, but hopes to improve profit margins by reducing the cost of materials.
In the face of this difficult business environment, the company expects to achieve sales of JPY178bn and a net income of JPY5.8bn. This compares with sales of JPY166.4bn and a net income of JPY9.0bn in the prior year.

        Eldorado Wins Adult Toy
       Distributor Awarded at
              Industry Expo
In this season of heavily contested political bouts, it’s hard to identify the heavyweights. But it was no contest at the StorErotica Intimate Apparel and Products Expo in Las Vegas this August – Eldorado Trading Company is Distributor of the Year! StorErotica hosts Adult Store Buyer Magazine and Teeze Magazine polled retailers on their top choice for adult toy distributor, and Eldorado, a leading wholesaler in the industry, was the clear winner.
The StorErotica Expo, held annually at the Mandalay Bay in Sin City, presents a wide range of exhibitions and events for the adult industry. Attendees, including stars, producers, store owners and industry pros, take part in tradeshows, panels and workshops, culminating in a much anticipated awards show that recognizes leaders in the adult industry. Larry Garland, founder of Eldorado, was asked to moderate the panel, “Diversify or Die.” Eldorado was also an exhibitor at the event.
“It was a huge honor, in addition to hosting the panel, to receive the majority of the votes in our award category, and earn the distinction of Distributor of the Year,” said Garland. “We are certainly grateful for our valued customers and their trust in our company, which can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of our staff.”
Eldorado knows what it takes to be the favorite. An active and sincere contributor to the adult industry, the company has become a household name, thanks to a reputation of professionalism and outstanding customer service, not to mention several highly regarded catalog publications.
Eldorado Trading Company, founded in 1974, is a leading distributor of adult toys and novelties. Located in Broomfield, Colo. at the base of the Rocky Mountains, they’re committed to providing products that enhance the sexual health, wellness and experiences of adults everywhere and in every lifestyle. For more information about Eldorado, the StorErotica award, or to get a catalog, please contact Eldorado’s sales department at 800-525-0848, sales@eldorado.net or visit Eldorado.net or Eldoradoparty.com.
