The French Give
Us...
Chocolate Bikinis
By Cathryn Conroy, Netscape News Editor The French are
giving us edible fashion. And not just edible. It's CHOCOLATE.
Does it get any better than this? Designer clothes made of chocolate.
Take your pick of the slinky side-laced miniskirt, the revealing
bustier top, cowboy-style chaps, oversize bows, the delicate
beading--all made of dark chocolate and milk chocolate and white
chocolate. Yum! It seems that the French fashion designers have
a little too much time on their hands. They tucked away the silks
and taffetas and fur and instead pulled out the chocolate and made clothes out of it. No, they aren't crazy. It's the annual
four-day Salon du Chocolat celebration with about 100,000 visitors.
According to Reuters, French lingerie designer Chantal Thomass stole the show with his nautical fashion wear: chocolate
bikinis. The models even sported a solid chocolate anchor--well positioned for a bit of modesty. "I wanted to create something fun because a chocolate fashion show is a chance to play. My
idea was to create pin-ups," Thomass told Reuters Television. There was also an evening gown encrusted with hundreds of chocolate pastilles like diamonds and a transparent plastic
knee-length dress decorated with pockets filled with white and dark chocolate discs. We just have one question: Do those skinny models eat their clothes after they walk down the runway?

U.S. Aids African Trade, Apparel Industry
President Bush spoke at a White House forum on regarding the value of the African Growth and Opportunity Act. The bill, which went into effect over a
year ago, provides duty- and quota-free breaks on imports from the continent, including apparel made from African or U.S. textiles. Since the act's inception,
apparel imports are up 30 percent, with imports overall up 17 percent. Bush also announced a $15 million fund to stimulate global competition and will allocate another $200 million for an overseas investment office to help
U.S. firms obtain loans and political risk insurance.

I have NEVER in all my life seen a worse representation of a corset than
that mauve monstrosity by Galliano shown on a model in your Nov. 1
newsletter! At first glance I thought it was on the model upside down but
no, they at least got that part right...but nothing else! The corset stands away from the model's chest by at least two inches and falls away
from her hips by at least one inch. I'm certain there is not one microbe of
waist reduction. How in the world could a top designer such as Galliano so
misrepresent this fabulous body-shaping sexy-garment-of-all-time? Shame on
him! Ann Grogan, President ROMANTASY Exquisite Corsetry www.romantasy.com
My spouse and I have applied for US and Canadian patents recently.
It pertains to brassieres and is VERY unique and revolutionary.
We believe it has enough superiority compared to the existing products that every brassiere companies worldwide would like to put their hands
on it!
I do have enough financing to bring it to market through infomercials however this mean investing a lot of money upfront.
I have also searched for companies which offer services in
assisting inventors obtain licensing deals in exchange for a
percentage of royalties. Do you know a reputable company (ies) that are familiar with this kind
of negotiations?
I would be very grateful if you would have some suggestions.
Thank you in advance, Pascal Plourde, The Back Up co.

I have been searching in vain for the manufacturer or distributor of "SO-EN"
branded panties. I believe they are a Philippine manufacturer. I do not have
an RN # to look up. Any help or "searching" suggestions you might have would
be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Ross Wilkin HalfMoon Enterprises

I am an individual consumer who used to live in Bermuda and purchased "Rene Rolf" (??..or
something like that) underwear at a store called Trimingham's.
In the USA, I have been unable to find the product that I used to always purchase, and when I
recently was on a visit to Bermuda, found they no longer carried the brand. Boy am I
disappointed!! How can I get the COTTON, thong
underwear, in size 6? I keep finding synthetics.

Joe took his blind date to the carnival. "What would you like to do
first,Kim?" asked Joe. "I want to get weighed," she said.
They ambled over to the weight guesser. He guessed 120 pounds. She got on the scale; it read 117 and she won a prize. Next
the couple went on the ferris wheel. When the ride was over, Joe again asked Kim what she would like
todo. "I want to get
weighed," she said. Back to the weight guesser they went. Since they had been there before, he guessed her correct weight,
and Joe lost his dollar. The couple walked around the carnival and again he asked where to next. "I want to get weighed," she
responded. By this time, Joe figured she was really weird and took her home early, dropping her off with a handshake. Her
roommate, Laura, asked her about the blind date, "How'd it go?" Kim responded, "Oh,
Waura, it was wousy."
