Las Vegas Casinos Seeking Racier Image
LAS VEGAS - For years, the Treasure Island hotel-casino, with its pyrotechnic pirate show and skull-and-bones marquee, carried a reputation as a Disney-esque destination for families.
But the show, like Las Vegas, is sailing off into another, altogether naughtier direction.
Casino operators will replace the popular family attraction with the "Sirens of TI" — sexy vamps who duel pirates in what Treasure Island calls a "sensual modern interpretation" of the old "Battle of Buccaneer Bay."
Treasure Island is not alone. Other Las Vegas hotels have added swinging adult clubs and risque revues to compete with a growing number of megasize strip clubs that are siphoning visitors and dollars away.
The recently opened $30 million Sapphire Gentlemen's Club sits on seven acres and boasts marble floors and plasma televisions. It has 10 sky boxes that allow customers a sweeping view of about 40,000-square feet devoted to topless dancing.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is airing four national commercials tantalizing would-be visitors with the not-so-subtle message that anything goes in Sin City.

A Waitress dances at Risque at the Paris hotel and casino in Las Vegas, March 13, 2003. Risque offers customers something besides women in bikini outfits draped with black mesh and bartenders wrapped in red corsets: the waitresses might not give you a lap dance _ but they will dance with you.

APPAREL INDUSTRY VETERAN  PURCHASES
DREAMGIRL LINGERIE COMPANY
Culver City, CA-Based Lovinı Enterprises Sells 100% of
Company Stock to International Sales and Marketing Exec
Los Angeles, CA. (May 5, 2003) -- Patricia Fischer, President
and Founder of Lovinı Enterprises, Inc. and Christopher Scharff
today jointly announced the sale of Lovinı Enterprises, maker of
lingerie, costumes and clubwear under the name Dreamgirl.
Scharff has purchased 100% of the companyıs stock from
Fischer who founded the intimate apparel and accessories
business in 1978.
Dreamgirl has expanded in recent
years and is currently sold in over
1,800 retail accounts in the United
States, Canada, Europe, the
Middle East, Australia, Japan and Asia.
The company is based in Culver City, California with
manufacturing facilities in Southern California. Fischer will remain
with the company as President and will focus on product
development while Scharff will head up sales and marketing at LovinıEnterprises. The dollar amount of the deal was not disclosed.
We intend to grow the business through design leadership, and by
broadening our product offering and increasing our new product
introductions,² said new owner Scharff. ³While at the same time
offering an increased level of value and customer service to our
accounts.
We plan to aggressively expand our international and domestic
distribution.  Scharff brings twenty years of apparel manufacturing
and marketing experience to this new project. He began his
career in the intimate apparel industry at Lanz Inc, the
manufacturer of  sleepwear and dresses founded by his father
Werner Scharff  in 1938.
Most recently Scharff was Vice President for the BCBG Max
Azria International Group, a leading international manufacturer
and retailer of womenıs contemporary designer apparel and
accessories.
At BCBG, Scharff focused his efforts on raising funds from
outside investors, venture capital funds and investment banks
to support ongoing operations.
Scharffıs position prior to this was Vice President International
for the Movado Group, a leading manufacturer and designer of
fine Swiss watches,jewelry and accessories.
Scharff was responsible for the management of the
Movado Brandıs international sales subsidiaries headquartered
in Switzerland including the Movado Watch Company S.A.
and Montres Movado Bienne S.A. From 1995 to 1999,
Scharff was Vice President International for St. John Knits,
the womenıs fine designer knitwear, shoes, handbags,
and jewelry company. Scharff managed all international sales,
marketing, and operational functions and tripled St. Johnıs
international sales in four years.
From her Southern California kitchen, Patricia Fischer --
who previously had a successful career at Playgirl Magazine --
started Lovinı Lingerie Distributors as a home party business
she could manage while staying at home with her six year old son.
The company grew as she began to sell to small specialty stores
and boutiques. In 1986 Fischer unveiled Lovinı Enterprises first
branded lingerie line Dreamgirl, which led to the companyıs
domestic and international expansion.
In the stock transaction, Jeffrey Kapor at Buchalter, Nemer,
Fields and Younger represented Fischer, while Scharff was
represented by investment banker John Taylor of John F. Taylor and Associates.
The corporate offices of Lovinı Enterprises dba Dreamgirl is at
10117 Jefferson Blvd in Culver City, CA.
The phone number is 310.838-6761.

Her products include panties, lingerie, clothes, hosiery, shoes, costumes, "love stuff" and men's.  Also bridal, beauty, gifts, cards, horoscope as well as romance 101.   Amanda & her savvy partner and staff have it all going for them.

My wife invited some people to dinner.
At the table, she turned to our six- year-old daughter and said,
"Would you like to say the blessing?"
I wouldn't know what to say," she replied.
"Just say what you hear Mommy say," my wife instructed.
Our daughter bowed her head and said:
"Dear Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner"!
