What we learned at CURVExpo NY

Curve NY was great! It was wonderful to see many of our friends and customers, and make some new ones as well. Shows like this give us opportunities for feedback from current and potential customers. 
One of the biggest challenges facing organizations today is how to choose an ecommerce solution. We met a group there who were starting a new venture.  Lola Haze TM Introduces 
      I Love/Hate Lucy

New York based lingerie and loungewear brand Lola Haze TM introduced its Fall/Winter 2010 collection at CURVExpo at the Javits Galleria in New York February 21-23, 2010, booth A24. This collection, I Love/Hate Lucy, is the brand’s fifth.
Lola Haze TM designer Laura Mehlinger sought to create beautiful, energetic pieces by marrying opposing forces: love and hate, creation and destruction. She explains, “I had an image of a woman, an artist, who loves and creates in fits – sometimes fecund, sometimes destructive, but always impassioned. This kind of counterbalancing energy, with its darkness alongside its light, is present in all of us, and inspired the mood of this collection.”
Hand-made, one-of-a-kind details and surface art are a focus point for creating this collection’s mood. In the Undone Chemise and Undone Tee, paint is hand-splattered on silk charmeuse, which is then burned and repaired. The Hera Teddy, an ode to that Goddess’s beauty and passions, is made of ethereal draped chiffon, burned, and then constrained with chain. The Slowly Dyeing Chemise, in silk charmeuse, is hand-dyed using an artisanal Shibori method of manually tying and gathering the fabric and dipping it in a mixed dye bath.
Lola Haze’s TM trademark sensibilities of boldness, play, and surprise coexist with the destructed glamour of I Love/Hate Lucy. Colors include deep ocean blue, gunmetal, and black, with Lola Haze TM signature pops of bold shades like hot plum and softer, balancing light pink and light blue. Fabrics are silk charmeuse mixed with chiffon, soft mesh, metallics, and stretch lace. 
This Fall/Winter collection focuses on best-selling silhouettes like camis, panties, and chemises, alongside trending bodies like teddies and rompers, oversize silk tees, leggings, and gowns. Signature Collection favorites such as the Whisper Slip and Cami/Cross Hipster continue to be available year-round.

Red Lights 
Two elderly women were out driving in a large car - both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to an intersection. The stoplight was red, but they just went on through. The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself "I must be losing it. I could have sworn we just went through a red light." 
After a few more minutes, they came to another intersection and the light was red again. Again, they went right through. The woman in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous. 
At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was red and they went on through. So, she turned to the other woman and said, "Mildred, did you know that we just ran through three red lights in a row? You could have killed us both!" Mildred turned to her and said, "Oh my! Am I driving?" 

Spears Launches Candies' New
          Campaign
Britney Spears has launched a new ad campaign for the Candie’s underwear and swimwear range.
In the sexy new shots she shows off a slim figure whilst wearing skimpy bikinis and bras- that are available at the Kohls store in the US.
The photos of Brit have been taken by famed photographers including Annie Leibovitz and Terry Richardson.
Britney said of her photos: ‘It was an amazing shoot, and I know my fans are going to love the cool images.”

Hanesbrands Sees Strong Growth
Apparel group Hanesbrands could double its earnings over the next three to four years thanks to distribution gains and a potential retail recovery, the company said.
Addressing an investors meeting in New York February 23,executives said the company could achieve the target based on net sales growth of 5-8% and net earnings growth of 25-35% this year.
They also based their bullish predictions on long-term annual growth targets, significant shelf-space distribution gains and a mooted rebound in consumer spending.
“Hanesbrands is at an inflection point to begin realizing its significant growth potential,” said chairman and CEO Richard Noll.
“We have spent the last few years building a strong growth platform that utilizes our big brands to drive top-line growth domestically and internationally, a low-cost global 
supply chain to drive margin improvement, and strong cash flow to support multiple strategies for earnings growth.
“We see very strong growth in 2010 and are targeting consistently strong growth for the longer term.”
Hanesbrands is targeting annual net sales growth of 2-4% and annual earnings per share growth of 10-20%, the company said.

Triumph Suing Sony 
Sony Music bosses are fighting legal action from underwear manufacturer Triumph amid accusations Beyonce's lingerie in her video phone promo is a direct copy of one of their designs.
The R and B superstar dons a black and white two-piece in one scene in the music video, which also features Lady GaGa, complete with matching bracelets and sunglasses.
Triumph executives took issue with the outfit, alleging it bared striking similarities to their creation by Bulgarian designer Iskren Lozanov, and filed suit against Sony for copyright infringement earlier this year.
Lawyers for Sony argued Beyonce's underwear had been inspired by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, but a judge recently dismissed their claim, ruling in Triumph's favor because Lozanov's design was so unique.
Bosses at the record label have consulted with Beyonce and are now preparing to file legal papers to appeal the decision.
