      And the bra and thong-panty set goes to . . . 
        Meryl Streep?, Nicole Kidman?, Renee Zellweger?, 
five women will learn they have been nominated for the Academy Award for best actress. But that's just the beginning of Oscar fun.
That same day, each of those talented actresses will receive a $5,000 ''Very Sexy'' good-luck-charm bra and thong-panty set from Victoria's Secret. (Also thought to have a strong shot at getting a Victoria's Secret delivery: Julianne Moore, Diane Lane and Salma Hayek .)
Each bra will be custom-made with the nominee's initials. The initials and a good-luck charm, designed by jeweler Mouawad, can be removed from the set and put onto a white-gold charm bracelet. Each charm features two 0.25-carat diamonds.
Don't think the nominees won't be delighted. Last year, when asked by Entertainment Tonight whether she planned to wear her diamond bra, Judi Dench  said, ''You bet.''
The bra set is just one of the perks for nominated stars. Top nominees will be showered with more than $20,000 in goodies. They include:
* An invite to the Estee Lauder Oscar Spa, valued at $15,000, awaits nominees in the best-actor, best-actress, best-supporting-actor and best-supporting-actress categories.
Recipients, plus a guest, can enjoy the spa at home or in a suite the week leading up to the Oscar broadcast March 23. They'll be spoiled by Hollywood makeup artist Paul Starr, celebrity hair stylist Ray Allington, eyebrow guru Anastasia Soare, fashion stylist Phillip Bloch, airbrush tan specialist Layla and dermatologist Daniel Taheri.
They'll also get a Hermes beach towel, Manolo Blahnik sandals and a vintage bottle of La Grande Dame Champagne.

      Chivalry linked to sexism
Here's where Americans' general lack of historical knowledge -- or distrust of intellectuals -- takes its toll. But now maybe the insight will be acceptable since a psychologist is voicing it: men who open doors for women and work at being polite and gentlemanly often hold stereotypical, sexist views of women. In a study of 201 college students, Professor William Altermatt of the University of Michigan finds that men who support chivalry also believe women aren't as competent or as powerful as men. European trade chiefs and their Vietnamese counterparts
have agreed to increase the amount of textiles and clothing
Vietnamese producers can export to Europe by an extra
200 million euros a year. In exchange, Vietnam has agreed
to significant tariff reductions for the textile and
clothing sector.
Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy said the agreement was
"evidence of the EU's commitment to strengthen trade and
investment links with Vietnam. We want to do business with
Vietnam. It is also a step in the right direction ahead of
Vietnam's accession to the WTO."
Similar talks with US leaders are due to take place in
Hanoi later this week. Vietnam's textile exports soared
by a third last year to $2.7 billion, with the US market
accounting for around $900m of this figure. Trade groups
have called for tough new import restrictions on cheap
textiles from Asia, but leading US clothing retailers
and manufacturers are urging the administration not to
impose quotas on apparel exports from Vietnam.

Anna Nicole Smith gets her day in West Hollywood
She arrives for Anna Nicole Smith Day in a leopard-print limousine, greeted by a frantic throng of photographers, television crews and two dozen men wearing dresses, blond wigs and push-up bras stuffed with various devices to emulate her buxom beauty.
But the woman of honor refuses to emerge from her limo.
Anna Nicole Smith, her attorney Howard K. Stern tells the restless crowd, has injured her knee and does not want her picture taken as she is hoisted into a wheelchair. Only crews from "The Anna Nicole Show," the E Entertainment Television reality show dedicated to Smith, are permitted to film that event.
"Everybody put the cameras down," Stern, a fixture of the show, says. "She won't get out of the car until you put the cameras down. Put your cameras down."
When the cameras are on the ground, Smith is helped from the limo, clutching her black dog Sugar Pie, and into the waiting wheelchair. She is wearing a black dress and her left leg is bound in an enormous flesh-toned bandage.

   NO STRINGS ATTACHED
Halters, spaghetti straps and backless styles are definitely fashion musts,  but don't they always put us in a quandary. " To wear a bra or not" is the
big question. One major fashion innovation in lingerie is clear straps, and  women are snatching them up faster than they can be stocked on the
shelves.
Indeed clear straps are quite successful currently. They are fashion accents, which spell a whole lot of fun. You can still see the strap, but it's not as obvious. For those not willing to battle a bra at all, there are several tank tops and T-shirts available now with built-in bras. These options are of course a trifle bit iffy. When in doubt, go strapless. No matter what bra size you are, there are many styles available. Just check out your closest lingerie store and be dazzled.
Strapless bras are a great option for a "no bra" look. You can wear them
underneath even thin-strappy tops or strapless dresses. That whole bra
strap look was big a few years ago, but now as we mentioned earlier, lingerie companies have changed with the fashion times to create a number of strapless, convertible and stick-on styles that stay hidden and are even
believe-it-or-not comfortable. Available with no (or detachable) straps
these strapless styles are an ideal compliment to the off-the shoulder
gown.
Strapless bras can be as enhancing or as natural as you choose. The strapless bra should have the proper support e.g., wires under the cups that sit flush against your ribs and finally the more hooks in the back of the bra the better the support. No longer do you have to be to be nervous about wearing a strapless bra, just ensure it has the support you need under the cup.   Before you buy a strapless bra keep in mind that it should fit you
perfectly, but shouldn't be too tight. If you get it too loose all you
will do is keep pulling it up all the time. It's a must to spend as much time
as necessary to find the perfect strapless bra. Jump into the fitting room,
ask a sales associate for help, and go to as many stores as possible. 
Once you find the perfect one, you'll never have to worry about looking tacky with your straps showing Always try and choose a strapless bra that is either skin-toned or matches the color of the blouse.
There are many great styles in strapless bras that are available right now.   One style that can be worn under the strappiest of styles is a strapless, backless T-shirt bra, smooth without any lace or seams and it sticks under the underarm with surgical tape, so it won't rip your skin. The ordinary backless strapless push up bra is also perfect for complete invisible coverage. It will give you the full support you need without the back strap showing.  There are even stick-ons that just cover the nipples. So you see backless dresses and skimpy blouses can be worn in a variety of classy and fun ways with a strapless bra. These bras can be bought at any lingerie store. So what are you waiting for? Free yourself from all those inhibitions and go strapless.
TIP: Don't wear a regular strapless bra. Nothing ruins a look worse than
seeing a thick band of material across a back that is supposed to be
completely bare.

A businessman enters a tavern, sits down at the bar, and orders a double martini on the rocks.
