Marks & Spencer's
'Mammary Tax'
Anger as Marks & Spencer charge more for large underwear
Busty shoppers were fuming after Marks & Spencer upped prices for bigger bras.
The chain slapped £2 more on bra sizes from 30DD to 42G, saying they needed "more engineering and
construction work".
But campaign group Busts 4 Justice blasted the surcharge as "an affront to our fronts".
Dubbing it a "mammary tax", founder Beckie Williams, 25, of Brighton, said: "They don't apply this policy to
other clothes that use more material.
"If you don't charge a size 20 woman more for trousers, why should you have to pay more for an E cup?"
M&S said: "There are 30 different components in a bra. The extra charge is more to do with the engineering
than material."
A Marks & Spencer spokesman said many women are "happy to pay a small premium" for the extra work that goes into making the bras.
It added the move was "standard practice". But John Lewis and Asda said they charged the same price for
different sizes.

Mone Buys Out Investors
Michelle Mone has bought out investors Sir Tom Hunter
and Ian Grabiner at Ultimo manufacturer MFM in an £800,000 deal.
They had invested in Mone's lingerie company Ultimo when the business nearly collapsed after its launch in
1999.
The firm has prospered and both are said to have made a good return on their investment.
Sir Tom is understood to have received £640,000 and Mr. Grabiner, chief operating officer of Arcadia, got
£160,000. Mone recently signed the former Spice Girl Melanie Brown as the new face of Ultimo.

You've Got Mail
A blonde quickly went out to her mail box, looked in
it, closed the door of the box, and went back in the house. A few minutes later she repeated this process by
checking her mail again.
She did this five more times, and her neighbor that was watching her commented: "You must be expecting a very
important letter today the way you keep looking into that mail box."
The blonde answered, "No, I am working on my computer, and it keeps telling me that I have mail."

Its new site will be promoted with Web marketing campaigns, ATG went on to say.
