STOCKHOLM
- Europe's biggest fashion retailer, Sweden's H&M, has launched wear-once paper panties for the summer.
"They are on sale now. They are good to have in your handbag if something unexpected happens, if you lose your luggage, or you exercise and forget to take a change of underwear with you," H&M's spokeswoman Anna Carin Bjorne said.
The panties are designed as one-size-fits-all "G-strings" and sold in small packs of three in red, green and black.
There are no paper underpants for men, but designer Camilla Thulin was quoted by tabloid Aftonbladet as saying the idea could appeal to many men.

PARIS- Titanic egos shared the limelight at Donatella Versace's autumn-winter haute couture collection on Monday, ensuring her dazzling creations were overshadowed once again by the mega-stars in the audience.
Actress Elizabeth Hurley, rap mogul Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, pop singer George Michael and actor Rupert Everett turned up for the display on the first day of the haute couture shows, which also featured designs by John Galliano for Christian Dior.
The action on the catwalk seemed almost dull by comparison.
Models paraded in frock coats made from a patchwork of antique brocades and lingerie-style lace slips in a look that blended 18th century rococo with the baroque style of pop star Prince, back when he sang "Purple Rain."
Brazilian ( news - web sites) model Fernanda Tavares, her hair streaked with purple dye, stepped out in a tightly-laced shiny black bustier dress, breasts heaving under a flimsy chiffon veil.

This
is one of those classic occurrences in life that just seemed to
go wrong even when the intentions were so honorable.
A class of elementary students started a class project to make
a
ceramic pot with some sort of plant in it to take home.
They wanted to
have a plant that was easy to take care of, so
it was decided to use
cactus
plants. The students were given
green ware pottery in the style of a clown
plant pot. They painted
them with glaze and had them professionally fired
at a class outing
so they could see the process. It was great fun.
The
cactus
plants grew nicely in the clown pots, but unfortunately
the children were
not allowed to take them home.
The cactus plants were removed and a small
ivy was grown to
replace them.
The children were then allowed to take them
home.
The teacher said cactus seemed like a GOOD idea at the time

While
Donatella is off whooping it up at the couture collections in Paris,
Versace's Fifth Avenue boutique has taken a major hit. The Manhattan store
lost $1.5 million in cash and jewelry when one of its basement vaults was
burglarized this week.
Police
are reportedly focusing their investigation on an employee who didn't turn
up for work yesterday. They said there were no signs of forced entry and
no injuries. Another Versace worker told investigators that the suspect
had earlier been seen closing the safe and even destroying surveillance
tapes.
Other recent burglaries on the ritzy Fifth Avenue shopping stretch have
included incidents at Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier this spring.
Jewelers on the posh Place Vendome in Paris have also been victims of
heists in recent months. Upscale jewelry house Fred lost $5.5 million
worth of jewels in May when two men carrying a bouquet of flowers armed
with tear gas raided their boutique.

Nielsen, 28, was a project coordinator in the Portland, Oregon, office and Lorenzo, 31, sold deregulated energy in the company's New York office. A Pakistani teenage girl (L) who was ordered to
be gang-raped by tribal village elders, walks with Pakistani Minister for
Women Attiya Anaytullah (2nd L), her mother (3rd L) and brother Abdul

Pakistan's Supreme Court expressed outrage on Wednesday at reports that a
traditional village jury in Punjab province ordered the gang-rape of a
teenage girl and summoned local officials to explain the affair. Local
newspapers said the village jury, or panchayat, ordered the gang-rape and
four men raped the girl inside a farmhouse and forced her to walk home
naked on June 22 as punishment for an alleged love affair between the
girl's brother Abdul Shakoor and a girl from a high-caste tribe.
Thank God, (yes I said God)
that we live in a nation such as ours
