Tag-less Labels
A new printing house has been set up to produce tag-less heat
transfer labels and other accessories for apparel and garment manufacturers in India.
Star Labels Pvt Ltd, based in Navi Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, has invested over INR10m (US$208,000) in
infrastructure and equipment spread over a 2,500 square foot site.
As well as tag-less labels, Star Label will also offer packaging products.
The company notes that tag-less labels are fast and easy to apply, comfortable to wear, and help reduce the risk of counterfeiting.
It also points out that many big retailers and brands in the US and Europe are switching away from regular woven or embroidered labels
to heat transfer labels.

Mannequins Must
be Covered
Shop mannequins displaying underwear will have to take cover under
a regulation passed by authorities in Vietnam's commercial capital.
The models must no longer be visible from shop fronts under the rule
controlling various forms of advertising in southern Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, a local newspaper said on its website.
'Putting the mannequin somewhere that people in the streets cannot see it is OK,' the report quoted local official Le Quang Vinh as
saying.
'No one wears underwear in public places, and it runs counter to Vietnamese traditional custom.'
Underwear mannequins are widespread at shops in Ho Chi Minh City and elsewhere in Vietnam.

Aubade to Cut 104 Jobs
Aubade, the French luxury lingerie business owned by Calida, is to shed 104 jobs at its plant in Saint-Savin in
center-west France.
"The economic recession and the rapid and pronounced change in the structure of the luxury lingerie market has led to a significant
slowdown in Aubade's sales," Swiss group Calida said.
It went on to underline an "important decline" in Aubade's international sales which represent 60% of its total sales.
It also highlighted "a forthcoming deprecation" of Aubade's intangible assets "on its accounts."
In February, Calida reported a slight decline of 1.2% in Aubade's 2008 sales.
Aubade's workforce in Saint-Savin will be reduced to around 30 and the site will become the company's European logistics
center.
Calida acquired Aubade in 2005 and in October 2006 announced it was axing about 180 jobs out of the firm's 500-strong workforce in a
cost-cutting move. It also outlined plans to move production to Tunisia.
The restructuring measures are limited to Aubade and do not concern the Calida brand where "activity is in keeping with forecasts
issued at the start of the year," the group added.
Skin Transplant
A married couple was in a terrible accident where the woman's face was severely burned. The doctor told the husband that they couldn't graft any skin from her body because she was too skinny. So the husband offered to donate some of his own skin. However, the only skin on his body that the doctor felt was suitable would have to come from his buttocks.

One day, she was alone with her husband, and she was overcome with emotion at his sacrifice.
She said, "Dear, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me. There is no way I could ever repay you."
"My darling," he replied, "think nothing of it. I get all the thanks I need every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheek."
