Business and Technology
Rough times? Economic woes? Bad economy? 5 Rules to help
           you through it all.
by the Gozooko Guys (Bryan and Karl)

Rule #1: Don’t panic. If your team sees you panic they will too. Stay calm and cool, unless you are a frantic worry wart, in which case just act normal. Communicate with your staff and let them know where the business stands. Ask them for ideas to help get through the rough spots. Many times you will be surprised what they will come up with.
Rule #2: Continue to market your business. While your competitors are cutting their marketing budgets you shouldn’t. Now is a great time to market your products and get more for less. Most marketing venues are giving great deals just to keep the lights on, so think twice before you pay full price for any marketing, but don’t go for the jugular either because you want them to be there for you when things get better.
Rule #3: Don’t deep discount. Deep discounting de-values your brand and sets low cost expectations for wholesalers and consumers. Yes ,it gets a few dollars in the door today, but it will break you tomorrow. If you value your brand don’t deep discount.
Rule # 4: Communicate with your customers. Let them know you are still there. Most people are glad to hear a friendly voice. Contact customers who you have not heard from in a while. Don’t make it just about the sale, make it about them too. This is a great time to build or rebuild relationships. Remember. Out of sight… out of mind. So stay in touch with your customers.
Rule #5: Cut out the waste. This is something you should always be doing, but when times are good we forget to focus on it. Look at areas in your business where there is waste. Waste in a process causes work to take too long. Waste in services does not bringing the value you expected or that you are paying for but not using . At Gozooko we use waste eliminating processes in everything we do and we continue to build these waste eliminating processes into our Gozooko 1 product line. The Gozooko 1 product line helps our customers reduce the time it takes to process orders, drop ship orders, update products, and more. Look for services that will add value to your business and cut out the ones which don’t.

Summerville Wins Texas'
 Next Top Designer
     photos by JWG Photography
Megan Summerville the Austin-based lingerie designer, CEO of her own company Sew Sister, beat out 22 other finalists for the title of Texas’ Next Top Designer.
Working as a Middle Eastern dance instructor, Summerville created fitted dance pieces, which ultimately led to a career as an intimate apparel designer. She specializes in the creation of foundation pieces and specialty garments for women of all sizes.
Organizers held a special gala at Victory Park’s former LFT space for an evening of fashion and fun. Models sauntered out to “Lady Marmalade” in peek-a-boo girly bras, panties, garters and nighties.
Summerville will receive a prize package worth $40,000 that includes, cash, a studio space, mentorship from industry pros and more.
Castor Oil Fiber
French technology firm Arkema has developed a new polymer derived from castor oil, which it says can be used to produce high performance textile fibers for use in clothing and footwear.
The bio-sourced technical polymer, called Rilsan PA11, is of 100% vegetable origin - and the fibers spun from it are said to be light weight with a soft touch, bacteriostatic properties and abrasion resistance.
As well as being renewable, Rilsan PA11 production uses lower fossil fuel and has lower CO2 emissions than synthetic, oil-based polymers.

Triumph To Cut 3616 Jobs
German lingerie maker Triumph International has confirmed it will cut thousands of jobs in the Philippines and Thailand, as the downturn reduces demand.
Under a new restructuring plan, the company will cease manufacturing and distribution center operations in the Philippines, affecting 1,686 employees, and reduce manufacturing in Thailand, causing 1,930 redundancies.
In a statement, Triumph said it was affected by the global recession, and the general downturn in consumer demand and wholesale orders.
"Triumph is therefore reducing over-capacity in order to match business requirements and customer orders," the company said.
The company will retain it's sales and marketing center in the Philippines and the factory in Thailand will remain operational, it added. There are no plans of factory closures in Thailand, Vietnam or China.
Triumph added: "The company deeply regrets that any job losses are necessary, but is making every possible effort to ensure that all affected employees are being treated fairly and with respect for their contributions to the company."
