Freshpair Prepares for
Underwear Day
On Tuesday, August 7, 2007, underwear will come out of the drawer and into the streets, celebrating its status as the most important item worn throughout the day. Commemorating its fifth anniversary, National Underwear Day will celebrate the importance of underwear with runway shows, give-a-ways and other surprises in the heart of Times Square. National Underwear Day will also mark the beginning of an exciting new charitable program -- Freshpair, Freshstart -- to help provide basic necessities to people in need.
From 11AM - 2PM, male and female models clad in the current hottest brands including Wacoal, Le Mystere, Natori, DT Clothes and Chantelle will walk the catwalk in the latest styles. Throughout the day, National Underwear Day will have changing stations set up for passersby to change into a free, fresh pair of underwear from C-IN2, Diesel, and Ginch Gonch.
Those enjoying the festivities of National Underwear Day will also learn about Freshpair, Freshstart, a program committed to providing basic, practical necessities. National Underwear Day is the first of many Freshpair, Freshstart opportunities where the public can help people who are struggling to rebuild their lives. A day of friendly family fun, National Underwear Day is surely an event not to be missed!
Additional participants in National Underwear Day Festivities include: Barely There, Hanes, Go Softwear, Paul Frank, Male Power, Report Collection and Cotton Incorporated.

Agent Provocateur Drops
Moss
British supermodel Kate Moss has been dropped as the face of lingerie giant Agent Provocateur.
And the news comes straight from the firm's co-owner Serena Rees, who revealed that firm has decided not to renew Moss' 500,000 pounds-a-year contract, and has opted to go for a younger model instead.
"Our current campaign with Kate comes to an end in August and we've already chosen our new face. It's top-secret but she's quite different. She's
not sexy in an overt way," she was quoted as saying.
As for why the split has come, well insiders insist that the reason is because Serena ran off with Paul Simonon, former bassist of rock band The Clash - and the husband of one of Kate's best friends.
A friend of the supermodel said that Kate was disappointed that the contract was not renewed.
"Kate really enjoyed doing the campaign for Agent Provocateur. It was a big comeback shoot after her cocaine scandal and she looked incredible," said the source," the friend said.
"Kate was paid half a million pounds for her services, so obviously it was something she could continue doing. But when Serena ran off with Paul it made things complicated. Serena has been saying it was her decision not to use Kate," the friend added.
"Kate's work with Agent Provocateur was a one-off arrangement, almost as a
favor for friends and there was never any long-term commitment from either side," another friend said.

Tight Skirt at the Bus Stop
One day, at a bus stop there was a girl who was wearing a skintight miniskirt. When the bus arrived and it was her turn to get on, she realized that her skirt was so tight she couldn't get her foot high enough to reach to step.
Thinking it would give her enough slack to raise her leg, she reached back and unzipped her skirt a little. She still could not reach the step. Embarrassed, she reached back once again to unzip it a little more. Still, she couldn't reach the step.
So, with her skirt zipper halfway down, she reached back and unzipped her skirt all the way. Thinking that she could get on the step now, she lifted up her leg only to realize that she still couldn't reach the step.
So, seeing how embarrassed the girl was, the man standing behind her put his hands around her waist and lifted her up on to the first step of the bus. The girl turned around furiously and said, "How dare you touch my body that way, I don't even know you!"
Shocked, the man says, "Well, ma'am, after you reached around and unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured that we were friends."

Wimbledon Upset Over Golovin's Red Underwear
Tatiana Golovin had the Wimbledon referee reaching for his rule book when she sought to appear on court wearing red underwear.
Was she violating the "predominantly white" dress code laid down by the tournament that is such a stickler for sartorial etiquette?
The fashion guardians of good taste at the world's most genteel tennis tournament gave the French player the go-ahead after much discussion about hemlines and where they stopped and started.
Explaining the decision, a Wimbledon spokesman said: "They were cleared with the referee in advance by the player. On the basis that they are underwear, they do not have to conform to the predominantly white rule.
"If they are above the hemline they are deemed to be underwear and not shorts."
The 19-year-old Golovin, who beat Taiwan's Hsieh Su-Wei 5-7 6-3 8-6, returned to the court the following day apparently unperturbed by the headlines her choice of underwear had prompted -- and wearing red underwear again.
Not many post-match news conferences at Wimbledon start with the question "Can I ask you about your knickers?"
Unabashed, the Russian-born player had replied "They say red is the colour that proves that you're strong and you're confident so I'm happy with my red knickers."

Life in their Hindley home is a constant game of hide the lingerie.
Two-year-old Toby developed a love of frillies at just 12 weeks, and has proceeded to munch his way through at least four pairs (that the owners are aware of) since.
These include, embarrassingly enough, a prized pair belonging to Karen's sister's while he was "on holiday" at her home.
This very clever King Charles has learned to nose open the door of the family dryer to seek out his targets.
Karen says that Toby remains the pride and joy of hubby Gary and their two children.
But they wish he would develop an appetite for bones or rubber balls instead.
Karen said: "He's become a regular at Holly House surgery because of this – the vet says he's got a knicker fetish!
"And he's a boy who knows what he likes, because he always goes for black thongs.
"He had his first pair when he was just three months and has had three other pairs since, including a pair of my sister's when he was staying there while we were away.
"When it first happened he was sitting on the rug, started wretching and fetched up this black mess.
"We wondered what on earth it was and had a poke around and found it was one of my thongs.
"Now we always know when he's eaten a pair.
"You find him looking a bit sheepish and licking his lips and then he goes really docile and just lies there because normally he's always on the go.
"But, touch wood, he hasn't needed any surgery yet, they have always come out the conventional way.
"Toby never chews them, but swallows them whole.
"He also likes hiding socks and things, although at least he doesn't eat them.
"So he is now banned from going upstairs if we can help it.
"The trouble is he is very clever and has now learned to open the dryer and have a good root for any knickers that take his fancy."

Bra & Underwear Blamed
for Flood
A big bra and a pair of underwear are being blamed for a foul flood in the British village of Middleton St. George.
Raw sewage flowed down a street and into more than 20 homes. Workers found the underwear items stretched across a nine-inch pipe along with a build-up of congealed fat and grease.
Officials with Northumbria Water said the bra and underpants had been flushed down a toilet and blocked the sewage pipe under a busy main road. The blockage, coupled with heavy rains, resulted in the flood of excrement.
Northumbria Water is asking people to think about what they put down their sinks and toilets.
The sewer's not just here but across the country were not designed for anything other than water and what comes naturally.

Woman Won Topless Suit
A woman who was busted for walking around topless has won a $29,000 civil rights settlement from the city.
Jill Coccaro, 27, an East Village artist also known as Phoenix Feeley, was arrested two years ago when she went for a shirtless stroll on a hot night on Delancey St. on the lower East Side.
But unbeknownst to the cops who charged her with indecent exposure, Coccaro has the right - affirmed by a 1992 state appeals court ruling - to bare her pierced pair anywhere in New York, her lawyer Jeffrey Rothman said.
"It was a civil rights settlement," he said. "We hope the police learn a lesson and respect the rights of women to go topless."
Rothman said that in addition to the bogus arrest, cops yanked his client by her hair and rendered her nearly bottomless when they ripped her pants during the collar.
A week after her Aug. 4, 2005, arrest, Coccaro was joined by about a dozen women bearing nearly all at a protest of her arrest.
"We have to affirm a women's right to be top-free," Coccaro said.
