Bra with Storage?
If you run, you know the issues: What do I do with my keys? Where can I put my iPod?
Earlier this year, Lauren Grace Updyke, a fitness trainer who lives in North Carolina created a new sports bra called the Power Pouch, which has an easy-access, zippered storage pocket with three compartments on the front.
The storage bra comes in three styles: a short top, a long tank and  a cami. Along with being ideal for storage, it's made of a spandex-polyester fabric that wicks moisture.

Playboy's Indonesian
      Publication Under
          Investigation
Playboy magazine’s editor-in-chief and first centerfold model in Indonesia were formally named by police as suspects in an  indecency case against the publication.
Authorities said they were investigating Kartika Gunawan, a woman who posed in lingerie in a premiere edition in April, and Erwin Arnada, the editor. They could be prosecuted, and if convicted, imprisoned for two years and eight months.
The magazine’s Indonesian launch caused a stir in the predominantly Muslim nation of 220 million, prompting the publisher to relocate its offices from the capital of Jakarta to the more liberal resort island of Bali. A second edition was released in June.

Cortefiel To Shut Down
     Werdin Chain
Cortefiel will shutter its struggling Werdin German jeans chain this autumn as part of an effort to focus on its flagship Springfield and Women’s Secret
banners a spokesman said.
The spokesman said Cortefiel will transform an undisclosed number of Werdin’s 34 stores into the expansionist Springfield men’s chain and auction off the rest. Cortefiel, of Madrid, Spain, will retain the Werdin trademark.
"There’s been a reflection about the brand and a realization that it doesn’t
fit with Cortefiel’s core strategy anymore," the spokesman explained. Werdin has also failed to meet profit expectations.
Cortefiel intends to sharply expand its Springfield banner in Germany, where it now operates 22 shops, and that Cortefiel has been gradually converting many Werdin’s shops into Springfield. Werdin employs 280 people.

Youngone Closes Two Factories
The biggest textile maker in Bangladesh, Youngone, has shut two of its units near capital Dhaka because of ongoing worker protests, an official said. Spokesman Abdul Hakim was quoted as saying "violent incidents" at the two units had led it to close them "indefinitely". Four other units are operating, however.
"We are reviewing the situation. Unless it improves we will not resume
operations," he stated.
Demonstrations over low pay and poor working conditions have led to two deaths and scores of injuries in Bangladesh recently. However, as M M Masud - a member of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Investors Association (BEPZIA) - was quoted as saying, Youngone pays high wages compared to many other companies and has "commendable" facilities.
South Korea-based Youngone has so far spent more than US$300m in Bangladesh, where it has a payroll of 34,000 workers Chittagong and Dhaka. It said last week it plans to spend $7m more on setting up its 16th production unit there.

Pendleton Quits Women's
    Wear Production
Garment maker Pendleton Woolen Mills said it will stop making women’s apparel in a push to drive up its competitiveness.
Pendleton will lay off about 50 workers at its Fort Crook Road North location in Bellevue on August 31, but will retain distribution and manufacturing support operations in the area.
The company presently employs 85 workers at the site compared to 400 a few years ago.
"The decision to discontinue the apparel production was prompted by the
continuing need to reduce costs in light of the increasing flood of lower cost
imports, particularly from China," a company statement said.

       Smart Blonde

A blonde walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan
officer. She says she's going to Europe on business for two weeks and
needs to borrow $5,000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the blonde hands over the keys to a new Rolls Royce. The car is parked on the street in front of the bank, she has the
title and everything checks out. The bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the blonde for using a $250,000 Rolls as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Rolls into the bank's underground garage and parks it there.
Two weeks later, the blonde returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41. The loan officer says, ""Miss,we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?"
The blonde replies....""Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?""

La Perla Opens Flagship Store
Lingerie and swimwear company La Perla opened its first flagship store in Hong Kong on June 22, part of the Italian company’s strategy of creating a
chain of similar outlets in capital cities around the world.
The new La Perla store, in Hong Kong’s Pacific Place mall, is set to target
sophisticated local consumers, businesspeople and tourists, said company
president Alberto Masotti.
La Perla now has a specialist team working on the company’s Asian expansion plans, headed by Andrea Bonardi, and is set to expand further in Hong Kong during 2007.
The company’s roster of flagship boutiques in capital cities around the world now totals 30.
