Sandals Designed With Storage Compartments
New Management is launching a range of sandals with removable
storage compartments in their soles.
ArchPort Sandals are designed to allow beachgoers, holidaymakers and the like to carry their credit cards, identification, cash and
keys in their sandals, eliminating the need to carry a purse or wallet.
The sandals’ ‘wallets’ are retrievable without the wearer having to take off his or her shoes.
New Management previously launched a range of ArchPort athletic shoes which featured one compartment with a ‘snap lock’ feature to
secure the compartment into the sole.
However, its new sandals have a wallet compartment in both soles rather than just one, and also include Velcro covers to offer
additional protection from sand and debris that could enter the compartment.
The design is the creation of Matt Potts, who has developed,
patented, designed and introduced several styles of athletic shoes
since September 2001.

Sports Illustrated
Model Loses Rights to
Lingerie Name
Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Audrey Quock, was blocked from launching a line of women's underwear called "SEXY LITTLE THINGS" when a judge ruled that Victoria's Secret could sue her for trademark infringement.
U.S. District Judge Harold Baer that Victoria's Secret appeared to acquire priority in the trademark use of "SEXY LITTLE THINGS" because it had used the label on lingerie sold online and through its retail stores and catalogues since July 28, 2004.
The judge refused a request, by the fashion model and actress to declare that Victoria's Secret had no right to stop her from launching the line.
Quock appeared in the sports magazine's annual swimsuit issue between 1998 and 2003 and has been featured in other magazines and advertising campaigns.
She and publicist Ronit Menashe said in a lawsuit in the Manhattan court that they came up with the term "SEXY LITTLE THING, SEXY LITTLE THINGS" in July or August 2004 and registered a domain name to build a Web site.
After sending a manufacturer diagrams for the production of "SEXY LITTLE THINGS" labels and preparing publicity, the pair received a letter from Victoria's Secret telling them their line would constitute trademark infringement.
The women then stopped development of the clothing line and sought relief in court, saying no one had registered the trademark when they checked with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in September 2004.
The judge ruled after hearing evidence that the Victoria's Secret marketing department settled on the name "SEXY LITTLE THINGS" for its panties collection between March 2004 and June 2004.

Gap's December Sales
Continue to Slide
Apparel giant Gap said it is focusing on getting its product and
stores back on track in continued efforts to win back dwindling
customers following December sales slumps.
Gap’s chief financial officer Byron Pollitt said at an investor conference held by brokerage SG Cowen & Co that the business had
already made great strides toward turning around its financial
situation but that there was much work still to do.
Pollitt commented: "We have experienced better financial growth, established better platforms for growth,
rationalized our real estate by shutting 500 under performing stores, and improved our
supply chain."
Recent movements that have helped propel Gap back into the public’s eye have included the new Forth & Towne chain, a
continuously improving website, and the launch of the Banana Republic retail
brand in Japan.
December same-store sales fell by 9%, he said, caused by continued negative traffic trends. Total sales for the five weeks ended
December 13, fell 5% to $2.4bn, the company said.
It will take time, Pollitt said, to win customers back. This will be done by focusing on the product - making it "trend-right" - and
getting a quicker speed-to-market.
Moving on to the Old Navy chain in particular, he said the bringing together of the design and merchandising teams in San Francisco,
plus adding new talent, had already brought vast improvements to the business.
The Old Navy chain will move away from its recent focus on value
products, he added, and will look to its original strategy of bringing fashion to the masses as quickly as possible to reel in
disillusioned shoppers.
Pollitt said customer response to Forth & Towne, which has so far
been launched in New York and Chicago, had been pleasing, and that customers "overwhelmingly say they would recommend the
chain to friends".
The company is keen to upgrade its store experience, he said, to make it easier for customers to shop and be inspired. Website
improvements would also continue.

Jogging In Wrong Bra Can
Lead to Sagging Breasts
Some 10 million British women may be subjecting their breasts to sagging because they jog without a suitable bra, say Portsmouth University researchers.
Dr. Joanne Scurr said women need to be aware of the effects of
exercising without properly supporting their breasts because the
bouncing could lead to stretching the outer skin and connective
tissues known as Cooper's ligaments, the BBC reported Friday.
"People rightly spend time and effort to get the right footwear for
exercise and it is equally important to wear the correct sports
bra," said Scurr. "Proper support for breasts will reduce the
stretch to the Cooper's ligament."
Scurr said wearing an ordinary T-shirt bra reduced bounce by 38%, but wearing a sports bra reduced bounce by 78%.

Speeding!
An older lady gets pulled over for speeding...
Older Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?
Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.
Older Woman: Oh, I see.
Officer: Can I see your license please?
Older Woman: I'd give it to you but I don't have one.
Officer: Don't have one?
Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving.
Officer: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.
Older Woman: I can't do that.
Officer: Why not?
Older Woman: I stole this car.
Officer: Stole it?
Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.
Officer: You what?
Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see.
The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for back up.
Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car,
clasping his half drawn gun.
Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please!
The woman steps out of her vehicle.
Older woman: Is there a problem sir?
Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car
and murdered the owner.
Older Woman: Murdered the owner?
Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.
The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.
Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?
Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.
The officer is quite stunned.
Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.
The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer.
The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.
Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.
Older Woman: Bet the liar told you I was speeding, too.
