Laundry's Green Impact
Consumers are broadly unaware of the environmental impact of their laundry habits, despite the launch of more efficient washing machines, according to a new survey.
The joint investigation by Levi's and washing machine maker Whirlpool found that significant numbers of consumers still believed in a number of "laundry myths".
For instance, nearly 50% of people are unaware that water temperature has an environmental impact, with 43% using warm or hot water to wash their jeans.
Meanwhile, about 30% of consumers think their washing machine needs to be full of water to wash effectively, and almost 20% of those washing jeans do so after each wear.
Waiting for a full load of laundry instead can save 3,400 gallons of water a year, according to the US Department of Energy.
"We all do laundry, but we don't all realize that small changes in our habits can add up to a big difference for the planet," said Robert Hanson, president of Levi Strauss Americas.

    

Nightclub Offers Free Drinks According to Cup Women's Size
A nightclub in Singapore is offering free drinks to women according to the cup size of their bra.
The OverEasy nightclub came out with the idea to attract customers by organizing the event themed “Fill My Cups.”
It is said that those with A cup would get one free drink while those with B cup would get two glasses.
Those who wore C cup would receive three drinks.
Women with D cup would be given a bottle of alcoholic drink worth S$168 (RM408).
A local paper said the “special offer” has drawn mixed reactions with some seeing it as a creative marketing gimmick while others felt offended and said they would not support such an event.

Student Wins Bra Unhooking
                Contest
The student of the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology unhooked all the bras worn by eight models within one minute at a competition.
He walked away with TWD5,000 cash prize, Taiwan's news reported.
"This is the first time I unhooked a woman's bra," claimed the student.
The event was held in conjunction with an automobile expo in Kaoshiong to attract visitors.
A total of eight people including an elderly man took part in the competition, which required them to unhook the models' bras with only one hand.
