South Korea May Remove
Mini-Skirt Ban
According to reports, Korea is moving to remove the ban on wearing minis and hotpants in public, good news for already-booming skirt
producers.
Showing too much skin in public places will no longer be classed as indecent exposure and will be eradicated from the Minor Offenses Act.
The law introduced by a straight-laced dictatorship government in the 1970s has remained on the books but has not been enforced since the
return of democracy to Korea in the 1980s, and young women have been flaunting such wear in Korean streets for years now.
Even in winter minis are proving a hot item as online shopping mall G-market reports selling 15,000 mini-skirt and hot-pants per day,
with some 450,000 units sold in October alone - a 10% increase from their summer season turnover.

The Rebirth
of Delicate Illusions
Supportive friends of Delicate Illusions owner, Shereen Loth referred to her
recent real estate acquisition as “being born”. This nine month escrow process
was nothing but tumultuous, where up until the last moment, felt like she was
going to be born breech.
Shereen created Delicate Illusions during her last few weeks of college in
1987. For the past 20 years, she had grown it to be one of the largest known
name brands in the exotic dancer industry. You are familiar with her trademark coat, created in 1997, but what you did not know, is that this coat allowed her to get started in California Real Estate Investing. Shereen remembers, in 1997-2000 Delicate Illusions was one of the top three brand names for exotic dancers... before all the manufactures, and new cottage trade businesses wanted a piece of the dancer’s dollar.
Now in 2007, it is financially impossible to manufacture in the United States and turn a profit. However, Shereen has zero interest in producing for the masses. Her desire is designing and delivering the best quality merchandise that you can buy, and of course, the most unique styles. It is her real estate intuition that has kept her dream alive, and now, affords her the Dream Come True. In the past 10 years, Shereen has bought and sold 4 homes, managed three at any one time, and has sold all of them, to bring Delicate Illusions to Laguna Beach, California.
“How many people, ever have the inner bliss, the inner peacefulness to know that they are finally where they want to be.?” ( Shereen asks.) “After 9 months of fighting for what was right, from a seller who is only an investor, feeling like quitting for at least 6 of those 9 months, postponed COE’s, previous tenants not leaving, and afraid of the repairs this “fixer” will require, at the end of escrow...the bliss from knowing I am where I always dreamed about, is like nothing I have ever experienced. I would imagine it is much like having your own child. I have not done that, but this business is my baby, and something I created with passion, I’d bet the feeling is identical.”
Shereen could not have done this alone. If it were not for the continued “light at the end of the tunnel” speech from her dear friend and realtor, Michelle Hart, and the unwavering belief in her from boyfriend, Don Schultz, this deal would not have closed. They say that divorce, losing a job, and moving are the three largest stresses a person can go through. Shereen physically moved three times this year to make the deal come to closure. All the while, Kika Wattenburg, Shereen's right hand in her production facility kept manufacturing going every single day, even through Halloween.
The location that Shereen purchased was made for her, even though it was built in 1937. It has two store fronts on Pacific Coast Highway, one houses her lingerie store and the other will house her “Shereen Annette Gallery”, to open June of 2007. This gallery will show upscale one-of-a-kind ensembles inspired by photographs, also taken by Shereen. Underneath the stores and extending further into the back is a basement-type studio that is sectioned into two distinct sections, one for all the cutting and sewing, the other for her design studio, shipping, and her office. The downstairs actually has 3 bathrooms and a kitchen! If these walls could talk, we believe it was somebody’s home at one time, then a church, then a ballet studio. Above the manufacturing sits two studio apartments, which Shereen is renovating to be one flat penthouse with an ocean view.
You can find the Delicate Illusions Lingerie Store at 1857 S. Coast Hwy. Laguna Beach, CA 92651.
