Michelle Mone Offers
Bra Fittings
Bra tycoon Michelle Mone is taking a hands-on approach to the underwear industry by becoming a high street store assistant for the day.
The Ultimo Bra creator and one of the UK's most successful businesswomen is carrying out personal bra fittings at Debenhams on Glasgow's Argyle Street.
Inundated by thousands of letters from women asking for her professional advice over the years, the bra expert decided to return to the shop floor to offer her customers first-hand guidance.

Gap Reports
Disappointing Q3 Results
Gap has reported a disappointing 20% income slide for the third quarter, plagued by problems with unpopular lines and a shortage of shoppers at overseas stores.
Quarterly income was $212 million compared to $265m last year, as net sales took a dive to $3.9 billion from $4.0bn a year ago.
Same-store sales fell 7% during the quarter, compared with a fall of 1% last year.
Third-quarter net sales were flat at Gap North America at $1.4 bn, but same-store sales took a 4% tumble compared to flat sales a year ago.
Banana Republic North America net sales totaled $537m compared to $538m, while same-store sales fell 7% compared to a 3% drop last year.
Old Navy North America net sales dropped to $1.6bn from $1.7bn in 2004, while same-store sales dropped 8 per cent compared to a 1% fall last year.
International sales totaled $324m compared to $340m last year, as same-store sales dropped 10%, the same as last year.
Gap launched its new chain Forth & Towne in August, which is aimed at women aged 35 and over.

Spellbound's Live Models
Cause A Stir
The latest attraction in downtown Augusta, Maine is three young women clad in lingerie who wave to passersby from a store window.
The attention-grabbing models were hired by Spellbound, a lingerie store that recently opened on Water Street and is trying to establish its name.
The reaction from the public and neighboring business has been mixed.
Police have received a few complaints, and the owner of a business across the road says the women are driving away customers, especially shoppers with children.
But others suggested that the models bring life and beauty to an often colorless street.
Police visited the store in response to complaints, but found nothing illegal. An officer said there's no law that bars the wearing of lingerie in public.

Casual Corner To Sell
Or Close Stores
Ladies’ wear retailer Casual Corner is to shut or sell off all of its 525 stores across the US and Puerto Rico.
Casual Corner, Casual Corner Annex and Petite Sophisticate stores will start closing sales at the end of November.
The business will explore future alternatives for its stores, which may include continued trading for the Casual Corner and Petite Sophisticate divisions, should a suitable investor be found.
1950-established Casual Corner presently employs more than 9,000 people. The company was sold by Retail Brand Alliance to Gordon Brothers Group this summer.

Kmart Employees Rewarded
$11.75M
Up to 150,000 employees and retirees of former retailer Kmart have been awarded US$11.75m as part of a lawsuit settlement over the investment of pension funds.
Workers who took part in Kmart’s pension scheme between March 15, 1999 and March 6, 2003 are said to have lost between $28m and 300m after officials wrongly invested money into Kmart’s now worthless stock.
Kmart filed for bankruptcy in 2002 and became K-mart Holdings on its emergence the next year. The business then merged with retailer Sears, Roebuck last March and became part of Sears Holdings.

U.S. & Vietnam To
Extend Deal?
Vietnam has appealed to the US to expand the garment deal
signed between the two countries, according to a report.
The report cited Deputy Minister of Trade Le Danh Vinh as saying at a recent meeting that Vietnam wanted to further strengthen the
Vietnam-US Bilateral Trade Agreement.
Vinh said the government had already agreed to alter catalogues and tax rates for US garment imports following a request from the US.
Garments from the US, the EU and Australia will reportedly be
subject to less import tax following a recent decision by the
Ministry of Finance.
Vietnam wants the US to agree to a Generalized System of
Preferences for its goods.

Saks Q3 Profit Up Slightly
Department store group Saks’ third-quarter profit has edged up slightly, as a gain from insurance proceeds offset expenses connected to Hurricane Katrina and the sale of business assets.
Quarterly net income totaled $200,000 compared to a loss of $30.4 million last year. Net sales slipped 11.2% to $1.32 billion from $1.48bn a year ago, reflecting the sale of the Proffitt's and McRae's store chains earlier this year. Same-store sales rose 2.7% during the quarter.
For the nine months ended October 29, net income totaled $24.6m compared to a loss of $35.6m last year. Nine-month net sales fell 4.4%, while same-store sales grew 2.2%.

The Toy Store
A dad is on his way home a bit late from the office when he realizes that it's
his daughter's birthday and he has not bought her a gift. So he stops at a toy store to buy his daughter a Barbie.
Inside he sees a Barbie display and asks the salesgirl how much the Barbies are.
The girl responds: "Which one? We have:
Gymnasium Barbie: $19.95
Volleyball Barbie: $19.95
Shopping Barbie: $19.95
Surfer Barbie: $19.95
Disco Barbie: $19.95
and Divorced Barbie: $299.95
Shocked, the man asks, "why is Divorced Barbie $299.95 when all the other Barbies are $19.95?"
Exasperated, the girl responds:
"Sir, Divorced Barbie comes with":
Ken's Car
Ken's House
Ken's Boat
Ken's furniture
Ken's jewelry
Ken's money
