McPete Sez                     Publishers Biography Born in Harlem 1936 and brought up in Queens, New York, Pete McKeown attended School of Industrial Arts in N.Y.C. and then spent 4 years in the U.S. Naval Air Force as an Arial Photographer. 1958, Started a company that made Bows for packaging adornment and sold the 1st ornamental ribbon bows to a greeting card co. (Charmcraft Greetings) for resale purposes.  Then after being approached by 3-M, worked with them to develop the 1st automatic bow making machines, that make ribbon bows for the greeting card co's that you see & buy today. Later worked for a company that supplied trim to the garment industry (Fashion Ribbon Co.) and developed & sold ribbon trim to the cosmetic industry such as Revlon & Estee Lauder. Then went on to start up a Company to sew Foundation & undergarments as a sewing contractor under article #807 in Haiti with a cutting plant in lower Manhattan. After 8 years as a sewing contractor, became a sales Representative to the Lingerie trade and opened a New York Showroom on Madison Avenue (McPete Sales), which today is owned and operated by his son-in-law Neal Fersht. Father of 3 and Grandfather of 2, retired in July 2000 after 30 years in the Lingerie Industry, and  now lives in and is restoring an old Colonial Schoolhouse built in 1867, high above the Atlantic ocean with his wife Mary Francis.
