Victoria's Secret Opens
First Canadian Store
Shoppers began lining up at 5 a.m. to be among the first to take a peek at the
 product line. By the time the doors opened at 9 a.m., about 500 shoppers
were waiting to be let in — almost all of them women.
First in line was 19-year-old Tayler Ehnes from Edmonton.
"This is a big deal to us," she said.
"We wanted to be first in line, first in the store and have first selection of all the stuff."
Farther back in the line was Amanda Jess and a group of friends who traveled
from Saskatoon, a 550 km journey.
"I was excited because we don't have anything like this in Saskatoon," said Jess, who has visited Victoria's Secret stores in the U.S. and shopped at the chain's online store.
Shoppers, almost all of them women, began lining up at the store at 5 a.m. Having a retail outlet so close to home is exciting — even if it's a six-hour drive, said Jess.
"It's close; it's exciting," she said.
South African model Candice Swanepoel was on hand to cut the ribbon and answer questions about the new outlet.
"West Edmonton Mall is a world famous mall so it's a great place to start," she said when asked why Edmonton was chosen for the retail chain's first Canadian store.
 She said the expansion to Canada was based on the demand for Victoria's Secret products evident in online orders and on social networks.
Three other outlets are scheduled to open in Canada. The next store opening will be at Toronto's Yorkdale Shopping
Center on Aug. 26.
Another store will open in Mississauga in September, with the third opening at Toronto's Eaton
Center in October.
Hang-gliding
Here in Kentucky, you don't see too many people hang-gliding. Bubba decided to save up and get a hang-glider. He takes it to the highest mountain, and after struggling to the top, he gets ready to take flight. He takes off running and reaches the edge-- into the wind he goes!
Meanwhile, Maw and Paw Hicks were sittin' on the porch swing talkin bout the good ol days when maw spots the biggest bird she ever seen!
"Look at the size of that bird, Paw!" she exclaims.
Paw raises up," Git my gun, Maw."
She runs into the house, brings out his pump shotgun. He takes careful aim. BANG...BANG.....BANG.....BANG! The monster size bird continues to sail silently over the tree tops.
"I think ya missed him, Paw," she says.
"Yeah," he replies, "but at least he let go of Bubba!"

Party King Appoints Phil Young
as Executive VP
