New Way of Meeting Dates
Love-hungry consumers are being offered another way to meet their soul mate with a new range of T-shirts.
The T-shirts, made under the AKA-Flirt brand, each feature a code which potential suitors can make a note of and then send a message to a central database. This will be passed on to the subject of desire, who can then choose to reply if they wish.
The AKA-Flirt collection was showcased at the Pure show in London in
August.

Bangladesh's Clothing &
 Textile Exports Up 24%
Bangladesh's textile and clothing exports have increased by 24% between
July 2005 and May 2006 according to data released by the Export Promotion Bureau.
“Since the country's independence in 1971, this is the highest export growth in our history. And all the credit should go to our ready-made garment exporters,” export bureau chief Mir Shabuddin Mohammad said. For the
ten-month period, the bureau announced that exports of woven garments,
knitwear and textile fabrics grew both periodically and ahead of targets.

Inditex Tough on Suppliers

Fashion group Inditex scrapped contracts with 339 of its suppliers last year because of labor-regulation compliance.
According to the company's annual general report for the 2005/06 financial year, Inditex found firms breaking regulations on issues such as child labor, work safety and discrimination.
The company cancelled 170 EU contracts, 13 non-EU European contracts, 120 Asian contracts, 22 Northern Africa contracts and 14 North and South
America contracts.
More cancellations might be on the way as 412 suppliers are now waiting for a decision following a second round of inspections.
In May Inditex was accused of using a supplier that employed child laborers. Although the company denied the specific allegation, it has since pledged to increase its concentration on corporate social responsibility, which includes keeping a closer eye on suppliers.

Sears Holdings Fails to Gain Control Over Sears Canada
Retailer Sears Holdings said it is "disappointed" after failing to win its battle to take control of Sears Canada.
The Ontario Securities Commission failed to approve the company's offer to buy the remainder of Sears Canada on the grounds that it formed illegal on-the-side deals with investors, breaking disclosure rules.
Sears chairman Edward Lampert provided better terms to two banks plus a real estate investor after they agreed to back the business, the commission said.
However, Sears spokesman Chris Brathwaite said: "We believe that we, as well as the Canadian banks who agreed to support the transaction, acted in full compliance with Ontario securities laws and practice throughout this process.
"We also believe that we fully complied with our disclosure obligations.
Sears Holdings' public disclosures in respect of the offer were at all times based upon and consistent with the advice of our experienced Canadian legal counsel."
He added: "We respectfully disagree with the conclusions of the OSC in its decision and have decided to exercise our right to appeal to the Divisional Court for Ontario."

        Coquette To Release
      Holiday Catalog
Coquette International Inc. has announced that their highly anticipated holiday catalog will be released to the public at the end of July. "We are very excited about the upcoming Holiday 2006 catalog", stated Marcus Horea, Vice President of Marketing. "The designs are absolutely stunning, and this is definitely our best one yet." Coquette's Holiday catalog features 6 new collections geared towards the holiday season, along with 4 new collections for Valentine's 2007.
"Our styles are really focused on the richness and love of the holidays, combined with the sensuality of being a woman", said Catherine Horea, Director of Design. "This collection exemplifies the very essence of Coquette: sensual styles with that certain 'kiss' of confidence".
Customers can expect to see unique designs in mesh, luxurious velvets and laces adorned with intricate accents which have made Coquette famous. The company has continued its tradition of versatile design, allowing customers to enjoy the garments all year round as opposed to making them look "too seasonal". "When designing these collections, we wanted to emphasize that our garments are functional for all occasions. Our holiday pieces are still perfect for Valentine's and vice versa." noted Catherine.
Attendees of this weeks Adult Novelty Expo in Universal City, California were the first to see the collection in person as Coquette unveiled the upcoming catalog at their show booth. "Customers were thrilled." exclaimed Marcus Horea. "Our sales reps were ecstatic, and they cannot wait to show the line to their customers".
The company reports that they will be posting the Holiday 2006 catalog on their web site immediately due to the overwhelming response from the show. To preview the new line, and download an electronic copy of the catalog, visit www.coquette.com

Dreamgirl Unveils New 2007
    Valentines Collection
Christopher Scharff, CEO, of Dreamgirl International unveiled Dreamgirl’s 2007 Valentines Collection at the company’s New York Showroom on August 2. “Over the past year, Dreamgirl’s growth rate has outstripped most of its competitors” cited Scharff during New York Market Week.
According to industry sources, Dreamgirl’s sales have more than increased six fold since the company was acquired by Scharff and longtime Dreamgirl Executive Vice President, Alma Y. Canjura, from the former owner and founder, Patricia Fischer.
For Valentines 2007, the Dreamgirl Lingerie Collection features a number of Novelty groups just perfect for the only International Holiday dedicated to love.
Heart Strings features a group of heart shaped fully functioning rhinestone buttons. Styles have cups and crotches that open with rhinestone buttons and elastic loops. The stretch lace in this group has a super soft finish which feels great against the skin.
Lover’s Lock features stretch satin styles in black, fuchsia and red which close with Rhinestone Heart Padlocks and can only be opened by a necklace with a key. “Warning: do not lose these keys because there is NO 24 hour Dreamgirl locksmith!”
“Bow Tied” features naughty cup details with an elaborate bow which lends an air of sophistication to otherwise naughty styling.
Highlights of Valentines 2007 also include “Be Mine”. This group combines hearts, lace and ruffles for a sweet, sexy and feminine look. The stretch lace babydoll has a ruffled lace neckline and open back with rhinestone embroidered hearts. All styles include ruffled lace back panties and rhinestone embroidered heart choker necklaces.
From the company’s showroom on Park Avenue in New York City, Dreamgirl CEO, Christopher Scharff remarked “Our organization continues to execute its business plan across all product categories and in all markets. I am extremely proud of our management, employees, sales representatives, distributors and vendor partners for their dedication and hard work in pursuit of our goals and vision,”
