Hurly Burly Wedding
If you thought that all the recent celebrity divorces and breakups
would stop other tabloid fixtures from running to the altar before
they've had a chance to get to know each other, think again. After
about 9 months of extremely public dating, Liz Hurley and
German/Indian textile heir Arun Nayar have decided to tie the knot
next February. Unsurprisingly, Liz has chosen her old pal Donatella
Versace to design her wedding dress. Donatella has been asked to
make a bright red sari for the traditional Indian ceremony in
Mumbai. (They are later celebrating the nuptials a second time in
England.) If there's anyone who can turn a sari into the kind of
sexy cleavage baring siren gown that The Hurl is so fond of, it's
La Donatella. Indian fashion will never be the same.

Tight Ties May Cause Glaucoma Warn Experts
Men who wear neckties tightly could be risking their health as it may increase the chances of them developing the eye disease glaucoma, US doctors warned Tuesday.
Experts say a tight tie may raise blood pressure in the veins and eyes which in turn can lead to the optic nerve disease.
In a study, they asked 20 sufferers and 20 none-sufferers to wear a tie tightly and then measured the internal pressure of the eyes.
They discovered 60 per cent of the glaucoma patients and 70 per cent of the other volunteers had higher eye pressure.

In the week that Warnaco announced it will close its
remaining US manufacturing plants, US textile leaders took
another step in their campaign to get the Bush
administration to put a halt to surging Chinese imports.
Around 30 senior executives announced a campaign on Tuesday
to lobby for limits on textile products China can send to
the United States each year. Their actions are aimed at
saving US textile jobs, they say, claiming that recent job
losses and the trade deficit are caused by policies made in
Washington.
Textile firms have also pledged to hold voter registration
drives to make sure that 100 per cent of the eligible
voters working at their respective companies are registered
to vote. These workers/voters, though, are caught between a
rock and a hard place. If they win the campaign for China
safeguards they might just save their jobs; but they could
also see the cost of their clothing double or triple as a
result. just-style.com

Nude Walker Continues Trek in Britain
LONDON - Wearing little more than sunscreen, socks and boots, Steve Gough is walking the length of Britain to celebrate the joys of nudity. Efficiency isn't one of them.
His 847-mile trek has been hampered by eight arrests, an examination at a psychiatric hospital and several nights in jail. This week, he's starting over after Scottish police shipped him back to his starting point in Cornwall for a court appearance.
