have died and gone to heaven. So they decide to tell each other how they
died. So the first guy says
"well I just got a home from work and I went in my house.
When I walked in my wife was wearing a sexy dress and I smelled cologne
and cigars and my wife was not a smoker.
so I went upstairs looked around and saw fingers on the windowsill. I got
a hammer and a bashed the fingers. I looked out the window and the guy was
on the awning. So I lifted the refrigerator and boy was it heavy, and
threw it out the window. Then my heart stopped.
So the second guy says " well I was washing the windows when I fell
off the dingy but I grabbed a windowsill to hold on.
Then a crazy man starts bashing my fingers and I fall off.
I land on the awning and praising God for saving me when the same crazy
man threw a fridge on me.
So the third guy says
" I'm in a refrigerator minding my own business when..."

Makers of designer label
jeans will be dismayed to learn of
new consumer tests in the US that rated a pair of basic
blue jeans as "best fit" among two dozen major brands.
The $11 Faded Glory's women's classic fit jeans were named
the most comfortable pair of jeans out of the 24 brands
tested by consumers and industry experts using criteria
such as fit, size variation, softness against the skin, and
shrinkage. They were picked ahead of brands that commonly
retail for up to $50.

INDIAN
FLAVOUR
BY RITIKA RAMTRI KUMAR
If you wanted to buy beautiful lingerie in
India a few years ago you had to trek the
narrow lanes of the grey market. Or you
would have to beg relatives abroad to
send you some.
For generations, lingerie in India had a
purely utilitarian role and business was
restricted to small-time manufacturers
catering to a local market. Comfort was
premium, and the consumer was unwilling
to shell out big bucks for clothing, which was hidden.
In fact branded lingerie was a concept, which people
had not even heard about.
Today, lingerie has taken a sharp turnaround: from function
to fashion, concealing to revealing, from just support to
seduction. It is a pity that underwear labels in India are still
not willing to put invest in design research, though women
here are willing to invest in the best lingerie available.
With the FTV mania on the upswing the Indian consumer is
a lot more trend conscious. Hence the increasing demand for
different styles, silhouettes, feels, comfort and colours. Bold
colours are in; we have moved away from the basic white,
black and skin to aubergine, maroon, purple, blue and yellow.
With lingerie making a dramatic move out of shady looking
shops into plush boutiques and design houses, the industry is
on the upswing. Today if you are looking for lingerie in India
it is all there just waiting to be picked up. Leading brands,
exclusive lingerie boutiques with trial service, and styles ranging
from the simple to the lush and romantic laces in silks, satins,
cottons, viscose, linen and lycra blends, in colours spanning
from traditional white, black, earthen or pastels to opulent plums,
wine, purple, bright red, and deep jewel tones of green and blue.
Colour is not the only thing that is happening. Push up bras,
underwired designs that provide seamless support under clingy
fabrics, front open bras, T-shirt bras, camisole sets, string sets,
bikini sets, corset panties and bustier are the available lingerie
options. Foreign brands like Jockey, Lovable, Calida, and
Vanity Fair have made inroads into the Indian market with their
interesting styling details. For sporty inner wear there is
'Jockey', for strapless and other classy styles, there is Marks
&
Spencer and Underlines. While like Victoria's Secret, Charmaine
et al are still not easily accessible; India even has an exclusive
lingerie store called Anmol, which boasts of exquisite lingerie and
leisurewear in silks, satins, jacquards, georgette's, cottons and
crepes.
Transparent straps are in and women are getting more daring.
There is a lot more lace to be seen and while simplicity is still
premium elegance, ornamentation and sex appeal are gaining
importance. There is an explosion of colour, design and interesting
details. It's a pity though that the Indian lingerie industry is
still
nascent. However take one look at a woman's closet and you
will realize that beautiful lingerie has finally arrived on the
Indian
style
scene.
