US garment maker Mast Industries has signed a four-year deal to produce Diesel-branded underwear and beachwear, Italian News Digest reported.
The range will be launched on the market in spring/summer 2007. A new division called Diesel Intimate will oversee the collection’s sales and distribution.
Mast also makes collections for lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret.

Agent Provocateur Fined
for Flyposting
Agent Provocateur was prosecuted by Birmingham City Council after posters advertising the "greatest lingerie show on earth" were found around the city.
A council spokesman said they were found on cable boxes, car park hoardings and empty properties.
The council said the lingerie company had acted irresponsibly. The firm said the council was overzealous.
Joseph Corre, co-owner of Agent Provocateur, said there should be a review of the current laws over billboards and flyposting.
"The fact there is no clear rulings on it from the law courts, because the law has not been tested properly due to its pettiness, speaks volumes.
"It does, however, allow overzealous council officials to undertake personal crusades against whom they wish," he said.
A large proportion of so-called legitimate billboards were in fact illegal as they did not have planning permission, he said.
Councilor Neil Eustace, chairman of the council's public protection committee: "We are especially disappointed that a company of Agent Provocateur's size and status should act so irresponsibly and with such blatant disregard for the law.
"Flyposting not only harms the appearance of our city, but can also affect community spirit, damage the reputation of an area and ultimately create an environment which breeds further forms of anti-social
behavior and criminal activity."

Crocheted G-Strings
G-strings crocheted by Polish grannies have proved such a success they are being sold worldwide on the Internet.
No longer able to sell their hand-crafted doilies and table clothes, women in the tiny Polish mountain village of Koniakow turned their
crocheting skills to making sexy lingerie.
And the business has proved such a success that the crotcheter have now launched an online shop for people around the world to buy the knitted underwear.
The head of the local Society for Folk Art, Helena Kamieniarz, is not happy with the new business, saying: "What is being done to our old traditions is a disgrace. The art of crochet is not intended for making such garments."

Kate Moss Signs Another
Deal
Kate Moss has signed a fifth major deal since she was pictured taking drugs last year.
The 32-year-old supermodel will be paid £1million to model motorbike gear for Belstaff.
Other top names who have hired her since the scandal are Roberto Cavalli, Virgin Mobile, Rimmel, Burberry
Dior and Agent Provocateur.
As well as fashion contracts, Moss featured in the 2006 Pirelli calendar.
The new deal will take her estimated earnings so far this year to £5million and there are dozens more offers awaiting her attention.
A Belstaff source said: "She is seen as the classic British icon.
"The cocaine scandal did not concern us at all and, if anything, it seems to have done only good for Kate."
The Belstaff campaign will feature Moss clad in biker gear draped over a motorcycle.

Fast Retailing Raises Stake
in Cabin
Casual wear company Fast Retailing has agreed to raise its stake in its affiliate Cabin as it looks to bolster its ladies’ wear portfolio.
Fast will increase its stake in Cabin from 31.59% to 50.04% between July 24 and August 17 at a cost of JPY5.8bn (US$50,000).
The company said the move will strengthen the two companies’ cooperation. It will also mean more efficient use of the two companies’ management resources, it said, and generate greater synergies.
Cabin’s brands include ZAZIE, we-nge, e.a.p and enraciné. The business has a network of 202 Japanese stores.

A
Birthday Wish
A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, observing his wife turning
back and forth, looking at herself in the mirror.
Since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her Birthday.
"I'd like to be six again", she replied, still looking in the mirror.
On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags theme park.
What a day! He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, everything there
was.
Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was
reeling and her stomach felt upside down.
He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with
extra fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to a movie, popcorn,
a soda pop, and her favorite candy, M&M's.
What a fabulous adventure!
Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed
exhausted.
He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, "Well
Dear, what was it like being six again?"
Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed.
"I meant my dress size!"

Jones Apparel Reported
33% Drop in Profit
Jones' brands include Jones New York and Nine West Clothing maker Jones Apparel, which announced it was considering a sale of the company in March, reported a fall in profits of 33% thanks to litigation costs and falling revenues.
Net income was down from US$54.8m last year to $36.6m for this year’s second quarter, while revenue fell 9% to $1.07bn, mostly because of the company’s sale of its Polo Jeans Company business in the first quarter of 2006.
President and CEO Peter Boneparth said: "We remain very pleased with the results of our strategic operating initiatives, which are well underway.
"As the financial results within our wholesale better apparel business demonstrate, we are achieving substantial improvements and cost reductions within the areas of pre-production, supply-chain management, customer service and compliance, and non-merchandise purchasing."
He added: "...we remain very comfortable with our stated cost reduction goal of approximately $30m in 2006 and over $100m annually by the end of 2007.
