                  Brazil's  Bikini's 
SAO PAULO, Brazil - After flirting with the heights of sophistication in the last years, the Brazilian ( news - web sites) bikini has returned to its roots.   Indigenous imagery, palm-studded beaches and bright carnival scenes dominated the 2002 beachwear collections at Sao Paulo Fashion  Week, the biggest fashion event in the southern hemisphere which ended on Saturday.   Although the bikini is Brazil's premier fashion export, designers said they had the Brazilian girl on their mind this year rather than the growing legions of foreign clients. 
"Today, all over the world, people are looking more at their own countries," said Amir Slama of the Rosa Cha label, who saw his show in New York canceled last September after the attack on the World Trade Center.      "Although this collection is very Brazilian, with images like parrots and seafood, people in other places will get into it," said Slama, chosen as Brazil's top designer in 2002. 
Last year, Rosa Cha offered classic black bikinis with images of French perfume bottles and shocking pink numbers stamped with Barbie dolls. 
In this year's show, Slama's models filed past a thick waterfall in sand-colored bikinis with tracings of indigenous body paint and sarongs printed with feather headdresses. 
Rosa Chá is fast becoming one of the most sought-after swimwear labels in the world - and that pace is sure to be quickened after today's seemingly endless procession of infuriatingly beautiful boys and girls wearing only a few inches of strategically cut lycra.
Mindful of the fact that most of their customers would probably need special grooming in order to wear some of the more revealing swimsuits, the Rosa Chá folks included a do-it-yourself Brazilian waxing kit with their show invitation.
Models slithered past a gigantic water cascade in every possible variety of maillot-from a 50s-throwback high-waist two-piece, to lingerie-inspired bikini tops slashed to reveal hidden layers that act as waterproof brassieres.

                      The Salad Bra?
Former Baywatch star and Playboy model Traci Bingham has stopped traffic in Berlin by wearing a lettuce bikini to promote vegetarianism. 
Bingham, who played the life-guard Jordan in the hit U.S. television series, spent more than half an hour posing for the cameras wiggling between a famous steak restaurant and Berlin's Kurfuerstendamm shopping street.    The protest was organised by the animal rights group PETA. Bingham's bikini of fake lettuce leaves carried a sign reading "Go Vegetarian!" 
"I love to wear lettuce because I don't like to wear fur," said 34-year-old Bingham. 
The restaurant sponsored a meat industry congress in Berlin this year. The manager asked Bingham to leave when she entered the restaurant with a crowd of reporters to order a vegetarian meal.   "Yummy"

       Hollywood's most obsessed-with-each-other couple has called it quitsIn an Us Weekly magazine article, Angelina Jolie admits that her two-year marriage to Billy Bob Thornton has fallen to bits.
"I'm angry. I'm sad. It's a very difficult and sad time," admitted the 27 year-old Oscar-winning actress. "It was a real deep connection, a deep marriage, so it's not that simple to say this or that one thing caused the problems. It's clear to me our priorities have shifted overnight."
Meaning? According to reports, Angelina has transferred her overwhelming obsession with her 46 year-old hubby to her 11 month-old boy Maddox -- the couple's newly adopted Cambodian son. The switch has caused Thornton to seek affections elsewhere, namely with the groupies he's encountered while on tour with his band. "He hasn't been as honorable as he could be," reveals Jolie.
The early days of their two-year marriage were quite a different story though. The two made headlines for months with their whirlwind courtship, Las Vegas wedding, his-and-hers tattoos, blood vials and candid sex talk. In 2000, Thornton told Us: "I was looking at her sleep, and I had to restrain myself from literally squeezing her to death. Sex for us is almost too much."

Iceland Fashion Week's premiere event, the Midnight Sun fashion show, started like every other show under the sun -- late. But there was no foot-tapping, sighing or impatient moans. Instead the audience, a mix of press, buyers and cool Icelanders, was transfixed by the surroundings: cobalt blue lakes, mountains, lava flows, natural hot springs and black sand, all gently lit by the midnight sun.  Just Luv the Blouse?
