Loincloth Underwear
Ladies - it's time to ditch those tight fitting knickers and opt for something
more comfy.
The latest craze in lingerie in Japan, is loincloth underwear.
Called 'fundoshi' in Japanese, similar loincloths used to be used by adult males
in time gone past.
But loincloth underwear has recently made a comeback in Japan - this time among women.
The inventors say the underwear has 'emancipated' women, freeing them from
the restrictions of conventional underwear.
It's also much easier to find the right size.
'We wanted young women to have more of a sense of freedom and release,' Tomoka Okamura, merchandise director for Wacoal's Nanafun-brand female loincloths said.
'And as we tried to come up with the 'ultimate liberation item' for women, we
thought of a fundoshi.'
More than 5000 fundoshi have been sold by Wacoal alone, since December.

Delta Galil Buys Gibor Sports
Lingerie maker Delta Galil Industries Ltd has bought Israeli sock
manufacturer Gibor Sports Active Wear Ltd in a move that will boost its annual sales to Nike by US$22.5m.
Delta Galil is buying Gibor's sock-making machinery and equipment, its inventory and customer base, and its subsidiary business Gibor Jordan.
However, workers at Gibor's factories in Kiryat Shmona and Netanya will be dismissed, and work transferred to other production sites.
Delta Galil says the acquisition will broaden its activity in the sock market, in particular making it the latest supplier of performance
socks to Nike.
It also expects to be able to enter the market for football socks.
