Saddam Hussein and his chauffeur are rolling down the highway when suddenly they hit a pig crossing the road. They kill it instantly. Saddam tells his driver: "Go to da farm over dere and hexplain to da owner of da pig what happened."
One hour later, Saddam sees his driver coming back from the farm, his clothes all wrinkled, a bottle of wine in one hand and a cigar in the other. "What happened to you?" he asks.
"Well, the farmer gave me a bottle of wine, his wife the cigar and their 19 year old daughter made wild passionate love to me."
"My God! What did you tell dem?" asks President Hussein.
The driver answers: "Good evening, I am Saddam Hussein's chauffeur and I have just killed the pig."

Hooray for the
The International Lingerie Show
in Las Vegas
For all of us who are "War Junkies",
Las Vegas was a welcome respite when we came together for our bi-annual
lingerie show.
Despite speculation of a slow show...it was anything but. A record
number of buyers were in attendance.
Although reports were that orders were smaller than usual, there was a lot
of paper left and everyone seemed upbeat and happy to be attending.
The bi-yearly fashion show gala was again held at the Tropicana (as was
the show) and it was a bigger hit than last years.
Each show gets better & more crowded. Over 1200 people enjoyed drinks,
hors'doeuves and comradship while the sexy models struuted on the
runway. It was all very festive.
I am constantly reminded of the old song "As Time goes By" when
I see life go on as usual. At 9:00 a.m. on Monday morning
buyers from all over the U.S. and some foreign countries were busy getting
coffee and Danish pastries, and craming into the show shaking Vendors
hands and leaving orders. This only goes to prove what old age and
wisdom has taught me.. "No matter what happens in the World, Life and
Lingerie go on!" On another note, I personally as well as the rest of
the Vendors and Buyers will miss Gaye & Herb Novack at the front table
greeting us with their own brand of class and style, As Herb is retiring
from the show after doing 45 shows, to pursue other interests.

Michael Moreio will be replacing Herb in the
everyday duties, and we wish him all the best in his New venture.
On a sad note, the Industry has lost two wonderful women who passed on way
before their time. In Loving Memory, Nancy Steinman, wife of
Gil Steinman of XTC Leather, and Sharon Sternberg, wife of Joe Sternberg,
Independant Sales Rep.

War Clouds Cool Kuwait's Love Affair with Luxury
KUWAIT -In happier times, Madam Mona's boutique would be full of wealthy Kuwaiti women perusing her lavish line of lingerie.
These days, her shop is empty and her sales have plunged 70 percent in the past few weeks.
Kuwaitis enjoy enviable lifestyles thanks to their vast oil wealth, but some retailers say the threat of war in neighboring Iraq has temporarily cooled their love affair with luxury.
"Why should any lady want to buy something like this? It's not important," said Mona, 38, gesturing at a rail of crimson baby doll nightdresses priced at $90.15 each.
"The most important thing is food, to keep money," she said, leaning on the counter of her store in the Salhia mall, one of the most exclusive shopping complexes in Kuwait.
Some stores played down war jitters, but most retailers contacted by Reuters said Kuwait's more cautious mood had caused a dip in demand for top-of-the-range goods in a country where shopping is a major national pastime.
While there is no sense of panic, there is a degree of uncertainty among the 2.3 million inhabitants of Kuwait, which would serve as a major launch pad for any invasion of Iraq.
In an Arab state with no discos or nightclubs -- and where alcohol is banned -- shopping is a source of fun that at least one Salhia patron was reining in with regret.
"We're just fed up," said Raja Fahad, an immaculately attired housewife confining herself to window shopping with her sister in the mall packed with Louis Vuitton, Kenzo and Hermes gear.
"Even these are old clothes you see us with. This is from last summer," she said, pinching her white blouse, a Cartier watch glistening on her wrist.
The country's oil reserves give Kuwaitis and their neighbors in other Gulf
states like the United Arab Emirates formidable spending power. There is
no income tax and the state pays for basics like healthcare and schooling
and subsidizes housing.

The U.S. Supreme Court last month made it harder, though not impossible, for companies to defend famous trademarks against dilution by other companies. By a surprising unanimous ruling, written by Justice John Paul Stevens, the high court ruled against lingerie retailer Victoria's Secret in its claim that the name of a Kentucky store, Victor's Little Secret, was likely to "blur and erode the distinctiveness" of its own trademark.
