Orange County Hash House Harriers' 23rd Annual Run
Nearly 300 scantily clad people from around the country participated in the Orange County Hash House Harriers' 23rd annual Palm Springs, California run.
Many said they just wanted to have a bit of fun on a Friday night.
Describing themselves as professionals, such as lawyers and doctors, participants jogged four miles and made at least two stops — Hair of the Dog English Pub, 238 N. Palm Canyon Drive, and The Tool Shed, 600 E. Sunny Dunes Road — for liquid refreshment or, in some cases, courage.
“It's a place to let your hair hang down,” Santa Barbara resident Bob Stock, 55, said while decked out in lingerie.
He reluctantly identified himself, while other participants hid their identities behind quirky pseudonyms such as “Brave Brave Sir Robin,” or “PG.”
“No one asks you what you do or what's your job,” said one man who called himself “Hairy Potter.”
Participants follow markings left behind by lead walkers, or hares, which direct the rest of the crowd to their destinations.
The event, which has chapters around the world, is organized to promote physical fitness and fun, members said.
San Jose resident Vee Dale, 67, has participated every year since 1982.
“People stare and laugh; they think it's funny,” he said, dressed in a red negligee.
Palm Springs resident Kiersten Woods, 43, stopped to watch the crowd, and she was impressed, she said.
“It's awesome and fun to see something happy at this time,” Woods said.
Elevator Ride
A guy steps into an elevator and there's just one attractive woman in
it. He turns around to push the button for his floor and his elbow bumps right into her breast.
He says, "Oh, I'm so sorry. If your heart is as soft as your breast, I hope you'll be
able to forgive me."
She looks at him a few seconds and says, "That's all right. If your penis
is as hard as your elbow, I'm in room 204."
